A new version of MONOPOLY might be coming to an online lottery near you.
This week, Atlanta-based Scientific Games announced at the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries 2023 conference it is launching MONOPOLY Property Payout. An online lottery game offering three-dimensional play and a progressive jackpot.
“We’ve built a premium iLottery game showcasing the iconic elements of the MONOPOLY brand that players across the globe know and love,” Scientific Games VP Of Digital Games Steve Hickson said in a news release.
“The simulated 3D game board offers an immersive MONOPOLY gameplay experience that stays true to the brand. Players can unlock multiple themed bonus rounds, such as Chance and Free Parking, along with special features where players have the chance to win cash prizes.”
MONOPOLY Property Payout will debut with the Pennsylvania Lottery later this year, according to Scientific Games.
Progressive style of MONOPOLY online lottery game can lead to big jackpots
Though MONOPOLY Property Payout is a lottery game, it shares a few things in common with online slots. Anyone who plays the game will be eligible to win a progressive jackpot, which is a type of jackpot that increases steadily as players bet and lose.
Progressives are a great way to drum up interest in a game, as their running jackpots can, at times, be higher than their non-progressive prizes a game pays out.
Additionally, Scientific Games said it plans to add a second MONOPOLY-themed progressive online lottery game that it will link to MONOPOLY Property Payout, effectively doubling the size of the jackpot.
And while the big jackpots will certainly be a draw for players, the MONOPOLY brand alone is enough to pique the interest of lottery fans—the game is the No. 1 licensed brand in the lottery industry.

Scientific Games continues pushing to remain a market leader
The MONOPOLY Property Payout launch is another addition to Scientific Games’ portfolio of more than 185 licensed brands and more than 150 instant-win lottery games.
Hickson said that, through new games like Property Payout, the company is trying its best to set a global standard for “the highest quality lottery games.”
“Our goal is to apply Scientific Games’ 50 years of lottery experience in game portfolio management to help lotteries build dynamic, high-performing iLottery programs with best-in-class games for their players,” Hickson said.
The news of the latest game in the MONOPOLY franchise comes less than a week after Scientific Games announced a four-year contract renewal with the Kentucky Lottery.
