The European provider of online casino games, Stakelogic, has secured an operational license in Rhode Island. This development marks an expansion for the company as Rhode Island becomes its third operational state, joining Michigan and Pennsylvania.
With the acquisition of an RI license, Stakelogic is poised to introduce its diverse portfolio of games to the state’s online casino market, offering players access to its technological solutions.
Online casinos coming March 1 to Rhode Island
The advent of online casino gaming in Rhode Island is on the brink of realization as the anticipated launch date of March 1, 2024, approaches. Extensive preparations have been underway in the Ocean State, including the meticulous vetting of operators poised to provide these services to both casinos and players.
Stakelogic has been proactive in anticipation of the launch, forging a strategic partnership with Bally’s Corp. in July 2023 to serve as its live casino supplier. This collaboration came soon after Gov. Daniel McKee’s signing of the bill legalizing online casinos in RI on June 22.
According to the legislation governing online casinos in Rhode Island, Bally’s has exclusive control over the market. This position stems from its existing physical footprint through the Twin River properties it operates.
In a Stakelogic news release, Chief Executive Officer Stephan van den Oetelaar emphasized the significance of getting licensed as a pivotal milestone in the company’s mission to establish a strong presence in the competitive US market.
“Gaining the Rhode Island license is a significant achievement in our ongoing US market journey. Our team is excited to introduce our content and technology in Rhode Island.
This expansion is a testament to our commitment to excellence and our strategy to be at the forefront of the online casino industry in North America. We are grateful to the Rhode Island regulators for their trust and cooperation and look forward to making a positive impact on the local gaming scene.”
Rhode Island gambling news
White Hat Gaming has also received notice this week that its Rhode Island license has been approved. On March 1, it plans to reveal its PAM iGaming platform and content created in collaboration with White Hat Studios and Bally’s. Hence, the state is fully ready for the launch.
Rhode Island’s legalization of iGaming positions it as the seventh state in the US to embrace online casino gambling. It joins a growing roster of jurisdictions where such activities are legal:
- New Jersey
- Michigan
- Delaware
- Connecticut
- Pennsylvania
- West Virginia
Several other states are also considering online gambling legalization and lawmakers are pushing legislation in that regard. PlayUSA is keeping track of such movement, and you can too with our US Casino Bill Tracker 2024.
While online gambling is pending, Rhode Island experienced an impressive surge in casino revenue during December 2023. Revenue increased by 10.6%, amounting to $60.8 million. This uptick comes after an eight-month streak of lackluster performance.
However, there is anticipation that the introduction of online casinos could potentially provide the necessary catalyst for further revenue growth in the state. Only time will tell as we await the launch and assess its impact on the financial landscape.
