Gaming software company Strive Gaming has made its way into the Pennsylvania online casino and sports betting markets.
The company announced it received interim authorization for a manufacturer’s iGaming and sports betting license in the Keystone State, allowing it to provide its services to Pennsylvania online casino and sportsbook operators.
In a Strive Gaming news release, CEO Max Meltzer said the company is “thrilled” about its interim authorization, as it came just months after the company gained a license in Michigan:
“This milestone follows our Michigan state license a few months ago and continues to reflect our dedication to regulatory compliance and our ongoing efforts to deliver a best-in-class iGaming and sports betting PAM (player account management) solution. We look forward to contributing to the vibrant digital landscape of Pennsylvania and providing our award-winning technology in the state.”
Why the Strive Gaming license matters
The sports betting and online casino industries comprise a complex network of companies. FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars offer sportsbooks and online casinos via the help of smaller companies like Strive, which offer behind-the-scenes software that makes the platforms run well.
Strive’s main pitch to operators is four-fold:
- Help sportsbook and online casino operators launch quicker
- Its software boosts operators’ revenue
- The solutions it offers are “future-proof”
- The use of automation to make it easier for operators to run online sportsbooks and casinos
The company aims to add more North American markets to its portfolio, and rightly so; US online casinos and sportsbooks have exploded over the past decade.
Strive is already working in Arizona and Colorado, two states that regularly land in the top 10 for the largest amount of dollars bet on sports in the country.
What’s next for Strive?
Strive can now execute contracts with Pennsylvania online casino and sports betting operators. After all, there is plenty of money to be made in the Keystone State
Pennsylvania usually generates more monthly online casino revenue than the other six states where real-money online casino play is legal. Additionally, Pennsylvania is a regular in the top five for sports betting activity.
For example, in December 2023, Pennsylvania online casinos generated $204 million in revenue. It was the first time in US online casino revenue history that a state brought in more than $200 million.
In January 2024, Pennsylvanians wagered over $858 million using the state’s legal sportsbooks, good for the fourth-highest total in the nation that month.
