Boom Entertainment Keeping Free-To-Play Sports Gaming App In House

Boom Entertainment announced the acquisition of the NBC Sports Predictor app from Comcast, a free-to-play sports gaming app.

Boom Entertainment, the New York-based sports betting and online casino operator, is acquiring NBC Sports Predictor from Comcast. 

The NBC Sports Predictor is a free-to-play sports gaming app that allows users to win cash prizes by making correct game predictions. In addition to the acquisition, Boom Entertainment announced several new features coming to the mobile app, including daily fantasy sports. 

Boom Entertainment will re-brand the sports gaming app to Predictor

Boom Entertainment has been NBC Sports’ development and operating partner for the app since its launch. In a press release, the company said they will re-brand the app to simply — Predictor.

Predictor will continue to offer its free contest across multiple sports and several new game formats. 

In a company statement, Stephen A. Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Boom Entertainment, said:

“NBC Sports Predictor has been a significant part of Boom’s story since its launch. This was the first product we built that attracted millions of sports fans, and we are honored to become stewards of the product and introduce new ways to play for sports fans.”

Murphy added that NBC Sports and Boom will continue to look for opportunities to collaborate on future gaming projects“Over the last several years, NBC Sports Predictor has been a key asset for NBC Sports as it utilized the product to increase audience engagement,” Murphy said.

NBC Sports is the sports division of NBC Universal, representing sports content across several platforms, including NBC, USA, Golf Channel and Peacock. 

Boom Fantasy, real-money daily fantasy sports will be integrated into Predictor  

Murphy said the company is working on several “interactive” game shows for the platform, beginning with Coin Flip Live

According to Murphy, Coin Flip Live is a free game where viewers can win money by guessing heads or tails

“We’re [also] integrating our award-winning real-money fantasy sports platform, Boom Fantasy, into the product so that fans can play for higher stakes in applicable states.”

Recently, Boom Entertainment announced a partnership with BetRivers to offer online slots in New Jersey.

Boom Entertainment began in 2015 and builds and operates sports betting, online casinos and DFS products.
