2023 has been a year of change for Silverton Casino Lodge. The casino and hotel just over four miles south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Blvd. has all new hotel rooms and is renovating its casino floor.

The changes will continue in 2024.

During the most recent Nevada Gaming Control Board Commission meeting, Circa Sports was approved to take over Silverton’s sportsbook operations from the Caesars Entertainment company William Hill.

In a short five-minute presentation, Derek Stevens said Circa has been working with Silverton on this for a while now. He added:

“The sportsbook would include a substantial renovation of the property and be an investment on our part. We plan on hiring all of the individuals and they’ll be Circa Sports employees.“

On Jan. 1, Circa Sports will operate a temporary satellite sportsbook at Silverton. The short-term sportsbook will have two ticket writers and one supervisor.

Over the next few months, the company will build a full-time satellite sportsbook similar to the Tuscany sportsbook.

The new Circa Sports race and sports book at the Silverton will open before March Madness 2024. The first round of the 2024 NCAA basketball tournament begins on March 19, 2024.

This new permanent sports betting space at the Silverton will have three ticket writers and one supervisor.

Circa Sports’ Nevada locations

Circa Sports has locations from northern Nevada to the southern parts of the state in Las Vegas. The multi-level flagship sportsbook is at Circa Resort and Casino in downtown Las Vegas.

In addition to a Circa Sports location at Stevens’ owned The D, there are numerous sportsbooks elsewhere in the state:

  • Legends Bay Casino (Sparks, NV)
  • The Pass Casino (Henderson)
  • Silverton Casino Lodge (Las Vegas)
  • Tuscany Suites and Casino (Las Vegas)

Bringing Silverton into the Circa Sports roster is a good growth strategy for the company in Las Vegas. The new location will make it easier for residents in southern Las Vegas to sign up for  an online sportsbook account and participate in its pro football handicapping and survivor contests.

It currently takes residents in the area about 15-20 minutes to drive to Tuscany or The Pass casinos. The drive is a bit longer with traffic for those heading to the downtown Las Vegas casinos.

The Tuscany sportsbook is convenient to the Vegas Strip. The Pass Casino sportsbook is in the rapidly growing suburb of Henderson. Silverton will, in part, serve the increasingly popular Southern Highlands section of Las Vegas.

While Nevada is home to Circa Sports, the company also operates sportsbooks in Colorado, Illinois, and Iowa and recently entered Kentucky.

Expected renovations at the Silverton Casino Lodge in Las Vegas

Part of the Silverton casino floor renovations will include the new Circa Sportsbook. This will be the latest in a series of updates to the hotel and Las Vegas casino south of the main tourist corridor on Las Vegas Blvd.

Last year Silverton started an overhaul of all 300 hotel rooms and suites. Construction was completed over the summer and the new hotel rooms are available.

Silverton Casino Lodge considers its 300 rooms as a “boutique hotel experience.” There are three new hotel room styles at the Silverton:

  • Cowboy Kitsch Collection
  • Rustic Modern Collection
  • Refined Lodge Collection

In a Silverton Casino Lodge press release, Silverton CEO Craig Cavileer says: “This is where luxury meets the rustic charm of a modern lodge. Each thoughtfully renovated room has been meticulously designed to be upscale, casual, fun and of course super comfortable.”

The new room styles are a welcome addition to a fun casino that needed a refresh. Next year Silverton will open its new pool experience called The Swimming Hole.

Silverton is spending $10 million to reimagine its backyard and pool complex. When the pool opens next year it will include poolside dining, cabanas, fire pits, sports and movie viewing at the pool, and more.
