Casino table game and tech company Galaxy Gaming‘s shareholders have approved the company’s acquisition by Evolution, a Sweden-based online casino provider.

Evolution announced it was buying Galaxy Gaming back in July. The acquisition will likely result in a host of new live dealer side-bet options for online casino customers.

What side-bet games Evolution can use through Galaxy Gaming

When you open an online casino app, the games you can choose from are typically provided through one source that contracts with a game studio. The studio is used to get a variety of titles into your hands. Some games come with novel features like side bets. In those cases, the company contracting with the game studio has to pay a fee for the extra feature.

Galaxy Gaming offers a wide variety of side bet games. Evolution will be able to use without paying any fees or signing any contracts. Some of the side-bet games that Evolution may offer include:

21+3

Branded as “the world’s Number 1 side bet on both online and land-based casinos,” the blackjack game allows side bets on your two cards and the dealer’s up card. If the three cards form a straight flush, three-of-a-kind, straight, or flush, you’re paid 9 to 1. So, a $10 side bet becomes a $90 payout.

21+3 progressive

In addition to the side bet, 21+3 features a progressive jackpot you can enter by placing a progressive bet at the beginning of the game. The bet pays out if you can hit pre-selected winning hands. That includes hands such as three aces of a a certain suit or a straight flush.

Bonus craps

This game adds a side bet to a craps game after any rolls of 7 (winning or losing). Once a 7 has been rolled, you can place a Bonus Craps side bet and be paid out on the following dice combinations:

  • 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 before a 7 is rolled (“All Small” bet)
  • 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 before a 7 is rolled (“All Tall” bet)
  • An All Small and All Tall are rolled before a 7 is rolled (“Make ‘Em All” bet)

If a seven is rolled before an All Small, All Tall, or Make ‘Em All is achieved, all side bets lose.

Progressive jackpots

The game also features two progressive jackpots:

  • Make ‘Em All Progressive: Pays out when a Make ‘Em All is rolled without hitting a seven or repeating a previously rolled number
  • Fire Up Progressive: The jackpot is available when you or another player roll five consecutive numbers listed on the Fire Up scoreboard (e.g. 6-5-4-3-2)

Galaxy Gaming acquisition gives Evolution flexibility

Evolution doesn’t have to pay additional fees to offer side bets thanks to the acquisition. So, it’s likely they’ll experiment and test various side-bet options.

Additionally, because Evolution will own the rights to the side-bet games they offer, they’ll be exclusive titles you can’t play anywhere else.

This new ownership should lead to innovative options for Evolution customers. It should also help online casinos find new ways to attract players.
