The Golden Nugget casino in Nevada announced its sports betting app would no longer be available from Apr. 26. The sportsbook notified customers about the change in a Monday email.
Players’ sportsbook accounts will remain open, but users won’t be able to access them through the mobile app after Wednesday next week.
According to the Review-Journal article, the sportsbook looks forward “to providing a new mobile solution in the future.”
What happens to Nevada sports betting accounts in the meantime?
When it comes to unresolved bets and Golden Nugget sportsbook account withdrawals, players can withdraw their mobile app balance at the land-based casino. The Golden Nugget’s local sportsbooks are open seven days a week, 9 am – 9 pm.
Golden Nugget said it would normally process and grade any unresolved bets. Players who wish to have a paper ticket reprint of unresolved bets on the mobile app can visit the physical sportsbook.
The operator also has a solution for those with no unresolved bets that don’t withdraw their accounts by visiting the casino. Golden Nugget will email checks to players’ addresses on file on approximately Jul. 1.
Players with unresolved bets can expect mailed checks approximately 60 days after their final mobile bet is resolved.
Golden Nugget casinos continue to operate in Nevada
Undoubtedly, players will miss the Golden Nugget sportsbook mobile betting app. It used to be a popular option for Nevada sports betting.
What the new “mobile solution” will look like and when it will be offered remains to be seen. In the meantime, players can place bets at two Golden Nugget venues in Nevada – downtown Las Vegas and Laughlin.
Soon, there will be the third Golden Nugget property in Nevada. Fertitta Entertainment, the company that operates the Golden Nugget casino, recently announced it acquired Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.
Other Golden Nugget locations outside of Nevada include Atlantic City, Mississippi and Louisiana properties. Another company operating under Fertitta Entertainment also runs Golden Nugget online casinos in Michigan and New Jersey.
