The name “Graton Resort and Casino” may not be familiar, but the California casino is doing its best to put itself on the gaming map.
The casino has signed a deal with London-based International Game Technology (IGT) to bring cashless gaming to its customers. Cashless gaming is a growing trend in the industry. And IGT is at the forefront of the movement via its Resort Wallet and IGTPay technology.
Brian Green, vice president of Graton, said the company is pleased to welcome IGT’s emerging cashless technology:
“As one of Northern California’s premier gaming destinations, Graton Resort & Casino prides itself in offering our players leading-edge technologies that bolster the guest experience and introduce added choice and convenience.
IGT’s proven Resort Wallet and IGTPay cashless technologies will enable us to drive new operational efficiencies and optimize revenue while offering our customers a future-forward mobile e-wallet option that comes with a variety of benefits.”
What can Graton California casino customers expect with cashless gambling?
Cashless gaming is seen as the future of the casino business. Customers can download a digital wallet onto their phones. They deposit money to the wallet via a checking or credit account. Then, they tap their phone on the slot machine’s card reader, for example. The phone and machine communicate via Bluetooth.
The customer plays the slots as they normally would. When they cash out, the money can go directly into their digital wallet. IGT’s cashless tech eliminates the need for loyalty cards, too. The wallet tracks the player’s cash total and loyalty points balance. IGT SVP Ryan Reddy said:
“Cashless commerce is the way of the future across business sectors and we’re finding that slot players who adopt IGT’s cashless casino technologies are readily embracing it and reporting high satisfaction with the experience. We look forward to helping Graton Resort & Casino maximize player convenience and security, accelerate growth and differentiate the guest experience through IGT’s Resort Wallet and IGTPay cashless gaming technologies.”
IGT’s technology making inroads across the industry
IGT’s Resort Wallet and IGTPay technology got a huge boost in 2021 when they won the Global Gaming Wards Las Vegas “Product Innovation of the Year” award.
In January 2022, the Nevada Gaming Commission approved cashless gambling accounts for Nevada casinos as well as IGT’s Resort Wallet. That paved the way for IGT to launch its cashless wallet at Station Casinos‘ six main Las Vegas properties:
- Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa
- Green Valley Ranch Resort, Casino & Spa
- Palace Station
- Sunset Station
- Boulder Station
- Santa Fe Station
Looking ahead, expect more cashless gaming deals for IGT. The company’s cashless clients are increasing. And, as customers look for more frictionless gaming experiences, IGT is sure to meet their needs.
