LOTTO launches in Arkansas with Jackpocket game starting at $250,000 jackpot

There are more ways than one to win the lottery.

This month, third-party lottery platform Jackpocket, in partnership with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, announced the launch of the new game “Lotto.” It held its first drawing on Sept. 21.

Jackpocket CEO Peter Sullivan said in a press release:

“The biggest game in Arkansas is here, and we are extremely proud to offer it on Jackpocket. With a top prize starting at $250,000, this exciting new game gives Arkansas players the chance to win life-changing prizes all while supporting Arkansas Scholarship Lottery beneficiaries.”

As part of the launch, Jackpocket is giving one free ticket to every person in Arkansas who plays Lotto for the first time. Also, the company hosted a Facebook Live giveaway along with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery to kick off the new game.

How Arkansas’ newest Jackpocket game works

Much like national lottery games, Lotto has drawings on Wednesday and Saturday. The drawings take place at 9 p.m. Central. The game’s jackpot starts at $250,000. It builds incrementally each time a drawing goes without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 3,838,380 million.

Lotto is a six-number game where players choose from six numbers between 1-40. The game includes a seventh bonus number. Players who match all six numbers in any number win the jackpot. Those who match five numbers and the bonus number win $25,000.

The game costs $2. Players can select their own numbers or choose a quick-pick option through which the app chooses numbers automatically.

Additionally, players can play Lotto at Arkansas Lottery retailers. When played in person, patrons can choose a multi-draw option that lets them play their number in up to 20 consecutive drawings.

While Jackpocket doesn’t charge a fee to play lottery games, it does charge users a service fee to deposit money into their account.

How to claim a prize

All players who win prizes of $500 or less on a physical ticket can redeem their winner at any lottery retailer. If the win is through Jackpocket, the app will credit the player’s account.

Players who win more than $500 via a physical ticket can mail their physical ticket for redemption or redeem the winning ticket at the lottery claims center in Little Rock. If $500 or more is won through the app, Jackpocket will send the winner a physical ticket they can redeem by mail or in person.

Arkansas Jackpot players have won nearly $4 million

Jackpocket launched in Arkansas in September 2020. Since then, more than 30,000 individual players have won more than $3.7 million through the Jackpocket app. This past June, a player in Pine Bluff won the app’s biggest jackpot in Arkansas history—$520,000.

Nationally, more than 1 million players have won prizes totaling more than $185 million. According to Jackpocket, 19 individual players have won prizes valued at $1 million or more.

Jackpocket is currently available in 12 states (including Arkansas) and Washington, D.C.
