The Cordish Companies, the developer behind the under-construction Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, has announced the Bossier City property will host a grand opening on Feb. 13 pending approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
The property’s general manager, John J. Chaszar, said in a press release that he “couldn’t be more thrilled” for the property to open.

Grand opening settles what was once an uncertain future for property
Live! Louisiana replaces Diamond Jacks, a riverboat casino and hotel that shut its doors during the pandemic and never reopened.
The property changed hands before becoming part of The Cordish Companies’ portfolio. Diamond Jacks owner during COVID was Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. Peninsula sold the property to Foundation Gaming in 2023. Foundation planned to demolish the property and build a new casino this year.
However, the Foundation’s plans never materialized. The company sold the property to The Cordish Companies in 2023, which planned its own overhaul. At the time, Cordish Managing Partner Joseph Weinberg said in a press release that he expected the forthcoming Live! property to create “significant new jobs” and provide “millions of dollars in economic benefits for the community.”
What Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will offer
When Live! Louisiana opens, the property will offer a wide range of amenities, including:
- 47,000 square feet of gaming space
- More than 1,000 slots and electronic table games
- More than 40 live table games
- A 12-story, 549-room hotel
- 31 RV parking sites with concrete pads and full hook-ups
- A 25,000-square-foot event center
- Dining options that include a sports bar, cowboy bar, and three restaurants
The casino-hotel will host a series of concerts in the months following the grand opening. Artists slated to perform include Walker Hayes, The Commodores, Matt Mathews, and Clint Black. Tickets for the events are on sale now.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to be able to put our beautiful new hotel rooms and show tickets on sale now, just in time for the holiday, so our future guests could surprise their loved ones with a night on the town at the hottest new gaming and entertainment destination in the Shreveport-Bossier market,” said Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana Vice President of Marketing Joshua Robinson.
