Green Valley Ranch is the latest Station Casinos (NASDAQ: RRR) property to open new high-end gaming spaces. This week the casino in Henderson, Nevada, opened a new high-limit slot machine room to go along with the table games room that opened in Nov. 2023.
Last summer, Station Casinos announced several upgrades for Green Valley Ranch. The new separate high-limit gaming spaces for table games and slot players are the first of the new amenities to open. Previously, the casino only offered one room for both gaming options.
The new restaurants and amenities at the Green Valley Ranch pool complex will open later this year.
What to expect at Green Valley Ranch’s new high-limit rooms
Like most Las Vegas casinos, Station Casinos has been focusing on high-end customers.
The upgrades at Green Valley Ranch are similar to the amenities the company added to help create a new vibe to Red Rock Casino in Summerlin, Nevada, in 2022.
The new decor at Green Valley Ranch is similar to the new high-limit light, bright, and airy rooms at Red Rock Casino and the recently opened Durango Casino & Resort. The similarity in design makes sense since all three properties are related.
High-limit slots
The new high-limit slot room at Green Valley Ranch offers more games than the previous space. The new room features 127 slot machines. The room also has a bar with 14 bartop games.
Guests will also enjoy a dedicated cashier cage for quick payment and personalized service. The new high-limits slots room is located next to the Drop Bar.
High-limit table games
The new, larger high-limit table games room at Green Valley Ranch has 10 table games. The previous high-limit room had five table games.
- Games available in the room include:
- Single zero roulette
- Double deck blackjack
- Six-deck shoe blackjack where the dealer stands on 17
- Midi baccarat
Similar to the new high-limit slots room, there’s a dedicated cashier and a bar. The bar in the table game room has 10 seats with bartop gaming. There are also three individual salons for even more privacy.
The high-limit table games room occupies the space that once housed the buffet. In a Station Casinos blog post, Vice President and General Manager of Green Valley Ranch Ken Janssen said:
“We are thrilled to unveil two new elegant high-gaming experiences for both Henderson and the Las Vegas Valley. These new offerings are just two of many new exciting amenities coming to Green Valley Ranch this year.”
Sunset Station upgrades are underway
In October, Station Casinos announced it was upgrading the casino floor at Sunset Station. The changes at the other Henderson Station Casinos property will be open later this year.
Changes to the casino include the high-limit slot room moving to the old live keno area. The sportsbook will expand and include the space once used for high-limit slot machines.
The property will also see upgrades on the main casino floor and restrooms.
No word on Durango expansion
Late last year, rumors about Station Casinos possibly expanding Durango Casino & Resort started to spread. The company did not address this rumor during its recent earnings call with financial analysts.
This doesn’t mean there won’t be an expansion of the property. At the time of Red Rock Resorts Q4 2023 earnings call, Durango had been open for less than two months and the company was still analyzing the fast start.
If there is an official Durango expansion announcement, it could come after the company studies demand after the initial glow of the new casino dims a little.
