BetMGM Sportsbook says its 2026-27 football season “happens here,” and at the BetMGM Sportsbook & Bar inside Borgata Atlantic City, most of it actually does.
First-quarter injury protection on player props. A free-to-play game with a share of a $50,000 weekly bonus bet jackpot on the line. Faster load times during live betting. All of it lands this football season at BetMGM’s 8,000-square-foot sportsbook at Borgata, one of the operator’s flagship retail locations and the anchor of its new season-long promotional push.
Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM’s chief executive officer, framed the rollout as a response to what bettors actually want heading into football season.
“Our goal is simple: to give our players everything they need to make the most of football season. Bettors want more than just a place to make a wager. They want great pricing, memorable experiences, meaningful rewards, and opportunities to stay connected to the action all season. It all happens here at BetMGM.”
What’s actually new for BetMGM at Borgata this season
The two contests BetMGM is putting front and center at Borgata, though, aren’t new at all.
Pig Skin Pick ‘Em and Survive the Season are part of BetMGM’s Signature Series, and they have run at Borgata before, and also at MGM National Harbor, Beau Rivage, MGM Grand Detroit, and other MGM-branded sportsbooks in prior football seasons. Same format. Same prizes: FREEPLAY, online bonus bets, and for Survive the Season’s grand-prize winner, a custom jersey and ring on top of $10,000 combined in bonus bets and FREEPLAY.
What’s genuinely new is the product layered around them. BetDefense is new: first-quarter injury protection that refunds a player prop as cash if the athlete gets hurt in the opening quarter. Ultimate Teams is new too, a free-to-play login game running Monday through Friday for a shot at that $50,000 weekly jackpot. Odds Flash, the expanded Cash Out tool, and the performance upgrades to the app round out the season’s actual product news.
Which offers apply to New Jersey and Michigan bettors
Terms and availability vary sharply by feature.
BetDefense and Ultimate Teams are both live in New Jersey, the state that’s home to Borgata. BetDefense is not available in Alberta, Massachusetts, Ontario, or Puerto Rico, and Ultimate Teams skips Alberta, Ontario, Nevada, and Puerto Rico.
The offer BetMGM promotes nationally is up to $1,500 in bonus bets if a first wager loses.
Read the full terms and conditions before opting in. Leg minimums, wagering requirements, and how fast those bonus bets expire are where the real value of an offer gets decided, not in the headline number.
The rollout comes alongside a $320,000 combined commitment from BetMGM and parent MGM Resorts International to responsible gambling research and partnerships, announced earlier this month, that expands GameSense messaging across BetMGM’s platforms and MGM’s sports venues.
Sportsbooks routinely adjust offers like these as a season goes on, and this story reflects what BetMGM is offering as of Sept. 10.
It happens here at BetMGM. This football season, in New Jersey and Michigan, that includes BetDefense, Ultimate Teams, and, for new customers who sign up through PlayUSA, $50 in Rewards Points plus a $150 bonus bet on a winning first bet.
