FanDuel Sportsbook Maryland is just about ready to begin its full online operations. Ahead of a potential complete launch on Wednesday, FanDuel is engaging in a soft launch on Monday that will allow bettors to place wagers during a short window of time as part of its app testing.

FanDuel Sportsbook Maryland announces online launch
Today is a great day for Marylanders as FanDuel will, for a limited time, allow eligible bettors to place wagers on its app. For many, this could be the first time they legally bet on sports online. After receiving license approval last week, FanDuel has been working to get ready for the action in the Old Line State.
FanDuel says that its app will be available for registrations, deposits, and browsing starting at 5 a.m. Eastern time on Monday, Nov. 21. At that time, however, the sportsbook will not be accepting any wagers.
Beginning at 2 p.m. ET on Nov. 21, the app will start taking bets. That period will only stay active through 10 p.m. ET on Nov. 21, though. After 10 p.m. ET, all wagering activity will be suspended until FanDuel gets regulatory approval for a full, permanent launch.
Currently, it’s unclear exactly when that approval could come. FanDuel expects it sometime on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Regardless of when Marylanders check out the app, they can take advantage of a new user offer from FanDuel.
FanDuel offers $200 in promo bets to new users
For Maryland residents and visitors who are new to FanDuel Sportsbook, it’s a perfect time to try your luck. For the next 30 days, FanDuel is offering $200 in promo bets to all new users who sign up and place a real-money wager of at least $5 in Maryland.
Even if you miss the soft launch betting period on Monday, you can still take advantage of this offer, through Dec. 18. All that’s necessary is for you to sign up for an account and then deposit at least $5. Finally, place at least one bet with those funds observing the $5 minimum.
If you sign up after the soft launch period but before the app goes live for good in Maryland, don’t worry. Your promo bets will be available as soon as that full launch occurs, likely sometime on Wednesday.
