Ben Murr has been named president of TwinSpires and Churchill Downs Incorporated’s online gaming divisions. He previously held both roles in an interim capacity.

Murr has worked in the gambling sector for 24 years. That included 14 years as president of United Tote, senior vice president, and chief technology officer at Churchill.

Said Churchill Downs CEO CEO Bill Carstanjen:

“During his tenure with CDI, Ben has been an important leader in the growth across our operations. He has been a key player throughout the extensive changes in our Company over the last 14 years and will continue to move our TwinSpires and Online businesses forward.”

TwinSpires continues its reach as a sports betting, pari-mutuels platform

TwinSpires has evolved from an online horse racing platform to an online sportsbook available in seven states. Churchill Downs rebranded its BetAmerica Sportsbook as TwinSpires Sportsbook last year.

Horse betting is available in every state except Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington DC.

Twin Spires Sports or TwinSpires Casino is available in Arizona, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

Additionally, Churchill Downs, Inc., owns 16 regional casinos.
