San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove has extended his endorsement deal with Sycuan Casino Resort for another two years.
Sycuan Casino Resort General Manager Rob Cinelli said the casino is “thrilled” to have the lanky right-hander on its team for another two years.
“Joe not only is an incredible athlete, but his deep commitment to the San Diego community aligns perfectly with our own brand values,” Cinelli said in a statement. “Joe quickly has become a beloved member of the Sycuan family and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will continue to make both on and off the field.”
Musgrove is a fan favorite in San Diego in addition to being a US gambling spokesperson. He was born in a San Diego suburb, attended high school there, and eventually pitched the first no-hitter in franchise history.
Musgrove will be a familiar face to Sycuan patrons for the next two years
As part of his endorsement deal, Musgrove will make appearances at the casino. He’ll also take part in Sycuan-sponsored community events. Additionally, Musgrove will appear in Sycuan marketing campaigns, social media content, and promotions, Sycuan said.
Sycuan did not announce the type of appearances that Musgrove will make and events he’ll attend. However, it’s likely the pitcher will appear at some of the same events he attended in 2022. For example, Musgrove helped pass out 1,000 turkeys to low-income families during a Thanksgiving event that the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation co-hosted last year.
In a TikTok posted to Sycuan’s account yesterday, Musgrove said he’s loved his time with the casino and that he looks forward to the next two years.

“From meeting and interacting with guests to creating my own menu items like the one-of-a-kind Musgrove Dog, representing Sycuan has been an absolute blast,” Musgrove said in a statement. “It’s been wonderful to work with a brand that demonstrates how much they care about our community in everything that they do. I look forward to continuing our partnership and all of the great things to come.”
Musgrove deal is part of bigger relationship between casino and Padres
It’s likely that most Padres fans are already familiar with Sycuan. The property is the official casino of the Padres. As such, it runs a “Best Seat in the House” giveaway at home games during the MLB season.
Those who follow the casino on social media have a chance to win the seats, which are located in a luxury lounge area. The winner and up to three friends get VIP treatment during the game, which includes food and beverage packages.
The casino’s hotel features a Padres Suite that fans can book through the Sycuan website. The room includes a private wraparound balcony, limited-editing artwork, and signed Padres memorabilia.
