Right after the Global Gaming Expo ended, The Venetian announced a multi-year renovation of its convention facilities. The $188 million renovation will happen in stages between 2024-2026.
The Venetian Convention Center and Expo is one of the largest in Las Vegas and best in the country. According to the Wall Street Journal, The Venetian space was one of three in Las Vegas to make its top 30 list of best convention centers in the US.
This renovation is much needed for the 25-year-old convention space at The Venetian.
The Venetian Convention Center’s new design plans
Las Vegas design firm Woogmaster Studio will oversee the renovations. The company has been an integral part of the $1 billion upgrade of The Venetian.
The renovation of the convention center will update the space with modern technology while bringing in some of the Italian theme design that runs throughout the property. The new look of The Venetian Convention Center will meld the rich heritage of The Venetian and more modern design from The Palazzo.
The design will have a new color palette of cream, white, and platinum. This will be accented by caramel upholstery and blue demark carpeting.
There will be new furnishing and a fine art program throughout the convention center. This will be highlighted by improved lighting.

New meeting spaces with technological upgrades
Meeting spaces will see audio-visual updates and integrated state-of-the-art digital screens. The technology will help meeting and conference organizers create a more powerful backdrop for events in the convention center.
The Venetian will also add new facilities for guests. There will be an elevated lounge-style space for all executives.
One of the additions that will be special for guests is a new speakeasy-style lounge. This will allow event organizers to host invitation-only events in a 10,000-square-foot space with an elevated design.
This lounge design will include rich woods, marble, velvet, and mirrors that showcase the modern take on the Venetian design of the 1930s. In a post by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Patrick Nichols, president and chief executive officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, said:
“Embarking on a refresh of a convention center that hosts back-to-back events year in and year out is no easy task, but our promise is to provide our guests a best-in-class experience. The finishes and amenities planned were thoughtfully curated based on feedback from our customers and will usher in a new era of Venetian Meetings and maintain our position at the forefront of the industry.”

$1 billion renovation
The Venetian is owned by VICI Properties and operated by Apollo Global Management. The $1 billion property update started a year after the two companies purchased The Venetian and its parts from Las Vegas Sands in 2021.
This convention center renovation is just the latest in a string of changes at The Venetian. Updates at the property are touching everything from the casino to dining options and more shows.
Recent updates include a new High Limit gaming lounge at The Palazzo and a renovated sportsbook at The Venetian.
Next month, the property will open Voltaire. The new entertainment venue will feature residencies from Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera.
