The World Series Of Poker (WSOP) gets all of the mainstream poker headlines emanating from Las Vegas during the summer months. However, there are numerous poker events taking place when the temperatures in Las Vegas reach triple digits.

The Wynn Summer Classic is returning in just a couple of months. There will be nearly 100 events taking place at Wynn Las Vegas (NASDAQ: WYNN) between May 22 and July 17.

Altogether, the Wynn Summer Classic will have a guaranteed prize pool of $37 Million.

Wynn Summer Classic events

The flagship event of the Wynn Summer Classic is the $10,400 No Limit Hold ’em Summer Championship. This event has a $10 Million guaranteed prize pool.

Buy-ins for Wynn Summer Classic events start at $400. The majority of events have a buy-in of $1,100 or more.

There are multiple events with a guaranteed prize pool of at least $2 million. The first of these tournaments will begin on May 28.

World Poker Tour WPT returns to Wynn

The largest buy-in at this year’s Wynn Summer Classic is the WPT Alpha8 Trifecta. This high-roller event will run a sequence of three, two-day tournaments each with a buy-in of $25,000.

The WPT Alpha8 Trifecta tournaments will run on the following dates:

  • June 25-26
  • July 3-4
  • July 10-11

In a World Poker Tour press release, WPT CEO Adam Pliska said:

“Last year, WPT witnessed a grand resurgence of the Alpha8 brand, which all began with a successful summer event at Wynn Las Vegas. We are taking it a step further this time around by hosting three Alpha8 high rollers at this amazing venue.”

The Alpha8 Trifecta will also award the top eight finishers with a $10,400 seat in the 2024 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December.

In 2023, WPT Season XXI paid out million-dollar prizes at three Alpha8 events. Jonathan Jaffe won $1,537,600, Steve O’Dwyer won $1,009,520, and Ren Lin took home $1,045,781.

Poker players at Wynn can receive free parking. Anyone with a poker tournament entry or playing cash games for at least four hours will receive complimentary parking for the day.

Just speak with someone at the Wynn Poker room for details on how to proceed.

More summer poker in Las Vegas

The summer poker schedule is dominated by WSOP 2024 events from May 28 – July 17. However, this isn’t the only poker game in town.

Wynn isn’t the only other Las Vegas casino with a summer poker event. There are a handful of other poker tournaments taking place this summer for those looking to play in multiple events.

The Venetian will hold the DeepStack Championship from May 20 – July 31. The location hasn’t been announced yet but the event may take place in the new poker room at The Venetian.

Participants in this event might want to sign up for the new Venetian Rewards to get the most bang for their buck.

The DeepStack Championship will have nearly $14 Million in guaranteed tournament prize pools.

Specific tournament details haven’t been announced for the following Las Vegas summer poker tournaments:

  • Golden Nugget: Grand Poker Series from May 28 – July 1.
  • MGM Grand: 2024 Summer Poker Festival from May 29 – July 8.
  • Aria: High Roller Series from June 19 – July 8.

Expect to hear more about these events closer to the start of the events.
