State of Play

  • Evolution is launching a second live dealer studio in Grand Rapids, adding more than 300 jobs and expanding capacity for Michigan online casinos.
  • This move relieves pressure on its crowded Southfield facility and signals further investment in the state’s regulated online casino market, with operators likely to gain more live-table inventory and new game rollouts.

Evolution North America confirmed plans to open a new live dealer studio in Grand Rapids after CEO Jacob Claesson told FOX 17 the build will take a couple of months to become fully operational.

The site is expected to house over 300 employees, supplementing the company’s existing Southfield studio and joining almost 1,000 staff already in Michigan.

Claesson said growth and capacity constraints in Southfield prompted the expansion.

“We’re growing a lot. We’re almost 1,000 employees in Michigan already, but we’re sort of running out of space and capacity.”

Evolution supplies live dealer content to major Michigan online casinos – including FanDuel Casino, DraftKings Casino, BetMGM Casino and Hard Rock Casino – and is actively recruiting dealers, floor supervisors, trainers, card inspectors and support staff for the Grand Rapids location.

Company plans to launch ‘Monopoly Live’

For players, the new studio should translate into improved availability of live dealer tables, shorter wait times and potentially more diverse live offerings across operator platforms.

Operators that rely on Evolution’s feed can scale up table capacity and introduce new show-style games or regional variations without the bottleneck that a single studio can create. Financially, increased studio capacity can support higher staking limits, more simultaneous tables and promotional events tied to live products.

On the operator side, this expansion reduces single-site risk and strengthens content distribution in Michigan’s regulated environment. Locally, the hiring push also boosts the regional economy and talent pool for live-game production – a practical win for both operators and the community.

Claesson said the studio will take a couple of months to open and Evolution is already advertising full-time roles. The company also confirmed plans to launch “Monopoly Live” in Michigan – described as one of the year’s biggest rollouts – which operators will likely deploy across their casino apps once the Grand Rapids studio is online.
