Online poker in the US is having a moment, and it feels a bit like watching two major personalities finally decide to share the same room. PokerStars has fully migrated into the FanDuel ecosystem, and the standalone PokerStars Casino app has been retired in favor of the unified FanDuel Online Casino platform.
A unified three-state online poker network
As of April 1, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board have granted final approval for FanDuel to launch its multi-state poker pool. This move successfully connects players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey on a single network.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams confirmed the transition, stating:
“FanDuel is a well-established operator in the Michigan gaming market. Michigan players can have confidence in the integrity of the games they play, backed by the same rigorous oversight the MGCB applies across all licensed gaming activity.”
With the “walls” between state lines now down, the results are exactly what players anticipated: larger prize pools, more active tables, and significantly shorter wait times. The broader Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) now includes Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, and West Virginia.
The new daily schedule: Tournaments & buy-ins
The new platform features a refreshed daily schedule (all times EDT):
- The Nightly Stars: The flagship event kicks off at 7 p.m. daily with a $100 buy-in and a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.
- Satellite Games: Players can qualify for the “Nightly Stars” for as little as $10. These qualifiers run daily at 4 p.m., guaranteeing at least five seats to the evening’s main event.
- The Daily Duel: A casual 6-Max PKO (Progressive Knockout) tournament starts at 7:30 p.m. with a $5 buy-inand a $3,500 guarantee.
How to migrate your account and claim bonuses
Because the platforms have merged, all players—including those with existing PokerStars or FanDuel accounts—must set up a fresh poker profile. To mark the launch, a welcome package is available for players in the three connected states:
- 100% Deposit Match: New poker accounts are eligible for a match up to $1,000. The bonus is released in $5 increments for every $25 contributed in rake or tournament fees, with a 120-day window to clear the funds.
- Tournament Tickets: Players can claim $30 in free tickets, including a $20 Sunday Million satellite ticket and two $5 Spin & Go tickets, via the rewards section.
Withdrawing funds and managing your wallet
For those with an existing FanDuel Casino account, balances carry over seamlessly to the new poker interface. However, funds remaining in legacy PokerStars standalone accounts are not automatically transferred. Players must manually withdraw those balances to close out their old accounts.
