Jackpot.com scratch-offs are real lottery tickets.
Not a digital game built to look like one. Not a simulation. The same paper ticket you’d pick up at a gas station counter, bought for you and scratched by somebody else.
That’s the part people tend to get wrong about the e-scratch-offs from online lottery courier Jackpot.com. And it’s worth sorting out this weekend, with the Powerball jackpot at an estimated $760 million for Saturday’s 10:59 p.m. EDT Halloween drawing. Jackpot.com sells tickets for that one, too.

How do Jackpot.com scratch-offs work?
The process, according to Jackpot.com:
- Pick your scratchers on the Jackpot.com website or in its app.
- Check out. That requires an account, so log in or sign up on Jackpot.com.
- Somebody on the Jackpot.com team scratches the paper ticket for you, then uploads a scan of it to your account.
- A notification tells you the tickets are ready.
- You scratch the scan on your screen, which reveals the numbers and whether it won.
Is it still a real ticket if somebody else scratches it?
Yes. The physical ticket exists, and the Jackpot.com team scratches it first. What you scratch on your screen is a scan of that ticket.
So the result is already there when you swipe. The swipe just shows it to you.
The app leans into that. You can tap “Scratch for me” to skip the swiping, or flip to the back of the ticket for an image of the unscratched front.
How long do Jackpot.com scratch-offs take?
About 5 to 20 minutes from purchase to upload, depending on the size of the order, Jackpot.com said.
When the company launched digital scratchers in October 2024, it cited an Eilers & Krejcik Gaming report that put courier scratcher fulfillment at 30 to 90 minutes.
What happens if you win a Jackpot.com scratch-off?
Depends on how much.
If a win is under $600, 100% of the prize is delivered immediately into your Jackpot.com account, the company said.
If a win is $600 or more, Jackpot.com securely delivers the physical ticket to you, and you collect 100% of the prize from your state lottery.
That’s the other reason the real ticket matters. A big win still runs through the paper.
Where can you buy Jackpot.com scratch-offs?
Arizona, Colorado, Massachusetts and Ohio, according to the Jackpot.com scratchers page.
Texas was one of the three original scratcher states in 2024, along with Massachusetts and Ohio. It dropped off after the Texas Lottery Commission voted in April 2025 to ban lottery couriers.
Players must be 18 or older, or 21 in Arizona. Jackpot.com charges a service fee, which its site says is shown before a purchase is completed.
