While Tennessee might not be home to a retail Caesars casino, it isn’t a state devoid of opportunities for such commercial gambling companies. The presence of legal online sports betting and sports properties like the Memphis Grizzlies provide some chances to capitalize.

Caesars took a step to do exactly that on Wednesday as it became the first official sports betting partner of the Grizzlies. While it’s the first foray into online gambling partnerships for the NBA franchise, it emphasizes a connection to many Caesars casino resort properties.

Caesars Sportsbook claws its way to Grizzlies fans

According to a Wednesday press release from Caesars, its product for online sports betting in Tennessee is about to become visible to Grizzlies fans in new ways. The release mentions “unique game day promotions” and advertisements for Caesars in Grind City Media content.

Most notably, though, FedExForum will feature a Caesars Sportsbook Lounge “on the main plaza.” The release states that the lounge will be open “for all events” at the venue. Sports betting lounges are essentially gathering spots inside venues that bear a particular sportsbook’s branding.

Such areas do not feature betting windows, however. Rather, all wagering that happens within their parameters actually takes place on users’ mobile devices. This is crucial for this partnership as Tennessee law does not allow for in-person wagering.

Among media assets that Caesars will get airtime in are The Chris Vernon Show, The Odds Couple, and Grizzlies’ radio broadcasts plus social media channels. For Grizzlies fans, it means more encouragement to take advantage of Caesars Rewards that they can utilize at the company’s brick-and-mortar casinos.

Bets in the lounge convert to perks at Caesars casino properties

As previously mentioned, there isn’t a Caesars casino in Tennessee. However, Caesars manages properties in four neighboring states. Caesars’ contingent of Mississippi casinos includes the Horseshoe Tunica and a bit further from Memphis, the Isle of Capri Lula.

On its sports betting apps, Caesars Rewards members get one reward credit and one tier credit for each $5 in potential profits, with a cap of 10X the wager amount. Guests at Caesars properties can redeem those reward credits for many things like free slot play, free hotel stays, and comped dining.

While there’s no extra incentive to use the Caesars Sportsbook app inside the forthcoming lounge at FedExForum, it can be a great way for Grizzlies fans to enjoy the atmosphere of an NBA game while earning some rewards credits. At the very least, Grizzlies fans will have plenty of reminders of that opportunity going forward.
