The American online casino market closed 2025 with strong momentum, generating $934.3 million in revenue in December and setting a record for monthly revenue.
The historically profitable month was aided by the relaunch of a federally recognized tribe’s online casino in Michigan, which produced more than $33 million in revenue after generating less than $1 million combined over the previous 11 months.
December revenue increased by nearly $80 million from November, representing a 9.3% month-over-month gain.
Michigan and New Jersey drive December surge
Michigan’s Hannahville Indian Community struggled to generate at least $1 million in monthly revenue during the first seven months of the year. That changed after the tribe’s former operator, 888, exited the Michigan market. Hannahville’s online casino remained dormant for four months before relaunching in December through Hard Rock Bet.
Hannahville’s resurgence, combined with a $33 million revenue increase from Michigan’s top three online casinos, pushed the state’s online gaming revenue past $296 million, breaking the record for the most revenue ever generated in a single month. Month-over-month revenue climbed by $63 million.
Michigan was not alone in posting strong gains. New Jersey online casinos generated approximately $20 million more in December than in November.
Together, Michigan and New Jersey accounted for $83 million of US online casino growth in December, playing a central role in the national market’s record-setting month.
| State | December | November 2025 | % change |

Two of the nation’s three smallest markets, Connecticut and Delaware, also posted notable gains, with revenue increasing 13.8% and 11.3%, respectively.
$1 billion month in sight for US online casinos
The most likely answer is yes. With the launch of Hannahville Indian Community’s new online casino and continued year-over-year growth in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, US online casino revenue appears poised to surpass $1 billion in a single month.
Based on historical trends, March and December are the most likely candidates for the next record-breaking month.
