Station Casinos continues to refresh its existing full-service casinos. The company is updating its second casino in Henderson, NV. This time, Sunset Station is getting a casino floor update.

The changes come as the Las Vegas casino operator upgrades its existing properties while preparing for the November opening of Durango Casino And Resort.

Earlier this year the company made a bevy of upgrades at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, NV. Last year the company made major updates to the casino floor and dining options at Red Rock Casino in Summerlin.

The updates at Sunset Station will be similar to what guests have seen at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch last year. There is one major difference in the changes. Those large and impressive sportsbooks weren’t touched.

Sunset Station Sportsbook gets a luxurious upgrade

Sunset Station’s race and sportsbook is temporarily closing today. It will be replaced with an all-new state-of-the-art STN race and sports book.

Unlike some new Vegas Strip sportsbooks, Station Casinos properties still feature traditional parimutuel horse betting. This, and all others at Station Casinos properties are actual race and sports books.

The main feature of the new Sunset Station sportsbook will be the 150-foot video wall showing all of the games and races. Guests will be able to enjoy comfortable lounge-style seating and place race and sports bets at new kiosks.

There will also be a large bar with about 20 bartop gaming machines. Similar to the new bars at Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock this bar will have a large menu with cocktails, beers on tap, and popular spirits.

During construction, guests can place bets at a temporary race and sportsbook next to the Rewards Center. Club Madrid will become the destination inside Sunset Station for football fans to catch the games every Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday for pro and college football games.

Main casino floor refreshed with modern upgrades

The casino floor at Sunset Station will see a phased makeover. Different parts of the casino will be closed while new carpet, lighting, and façades are installed.

All restrooms will be upgraded with modern amenities during this refresh of the casino floor at Sunset Station.

Fans of Sunset Station atmosphere will be happy to know that the updates will keep the Spanish-style theme. Everything will just be updated for today’s visitors.

In a statement about the changes, Jordan Seager, vice president and general manager of Sunset Station said on the Station Casinos Blog:

“We are thrilled to bring our guests an all-new gaming and sports betting offering in the coming months at Sunset Station. For more than 25 years, Sunset Station continues to raise the bar for our Henderson neighbors – this remodel will no doubt offer a best-in-class experience for our guests.”
