Live dealer table games are enormously popular in online casino apps because they offer a unique experience. For players in Pennsylvania, that experience is more accessible.

Evolution, which provides live-dealer games to many online casinos in Pennsylvania, has launched its first Spanish-language blackjack games for players. Pennsylvanians won’t be the only players with a language option for long.

Evolution takes Spanish-language online casino games live in PA

According to Heather Fletcher of Bonus.com, the Spanish-language blackjack games began broadcasting on Aug. 15 on the apps of Evolution’s Pennsylvania online casino partners. The launch followed five months of Evolution testing the format in its New Jersey studios.

Such games are still available in the New Jersey online casino market, and now Pennsylvanians have access to the Spanish-language games. The croupiers in these games speak Spanish exclusively.

These high-stakes affairs, “VIP Blackjack en Español,” are available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Fletcher reports that Evolution is working on a Spanish version of its Infinite Blackjack game to introduce in New Jersey later this year.

Fletcher adds that Evolution is eyeing Connecticut as the next market for its Spanish-language live dealer offerings. To date, however, there are no plans for Michigan or West Virginia online casinos that the company is ready to share.

For Evolution and its partners, this amenity is about making players more comfortable and appealing to a greater customer base. Language could be a significant barrier for millions in states with legal online casinos.

Native Spanish-speakers form significant portion of populations

In December 2022, the US Census Bureau estimated that 68 million people spoke a language other than English in their homes as of 2019. The dominant language among that subset of the United States population was Spanish, representing almost 62% of that group.

Fletcher reports that almost 17% of New Jerseyans claim Spanish as their first language, while almost 6% of Pennsylvanians do the same. Nearly 13% of Connecticut residents fit the same description.

That adds up to over 2.7 million people who prefer to speak Spanish. To what extent that preference would deter them from playing live dealer casino games in English is uncertain.

For Evolution’s partners, though, the idea is to remove that barrier.

What online casino apps will the games be available on?

Most online casino licensees in New Jersey and Pennsylvania are Evolution partners. The games should be available across a broad spectrum of apps in both states now.

These games allow a greater portion of the population to participate in live dealer blackjack for now. But if they get a good response, Evolution could develop similar products for more games.

Evolution also provides live dealer versions of baccarat, craps, roulette, and Sic Bo.

Evolution’s European clients have been giving their players language options for decades. In this regard, the US is just now starting to catch up.
