A visitor from Atlanta walked into Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino on June 16 and walked out a multimillionaire.
The guest placed a $5 wager on an IGT Megabucks Wolf Run Eclipse slot machine. Within about three minutes, the machine delivered a progressive jackpot of $10,292,912.32. Westgate confirmed the win in a social media post, calling the player its newest multimillionaire.

A bonus round sparked a record-setting progressive jackpot
The Las Vegas casino said the guest had just arrived at the property when they sat down to play. A bonus round triggered the win, with the Megabucks jackpot following soon after, casino officials said. The winner chose to remain anonymous and declined to be photographed, according to Westgate. The resort has not released the player’s age, gender or hometown details beyond Atlanta.
According to a Westgate Resorts press release, Cami Christensen, Westgate’s president and general manager, said Las Vegas is built on unforgettable moments and that “it doesn’t get much more memorable than turning a $5 bet into more than $10 million.” She added that the team was thrilled for the guest and enjoyed seeing another legendary story unfold at the property.
One of the largest casino wins in Westgate history
The payout ranks as the second-largest jackpot in Westgate’s history. The resort’s biggest prior win came in March 2015, when Trinidad Torres, a 78-year-old woman from Magna, Utah, collected $10.7 million on a Megabucks machine.
Westgate has operated along Paradise Road, just off the Las Vegas Strip, for 57 years. The property opened as the International Hotel, where Elvis Presley once held a celebrated residency. It now also houses the SuperBook, widely regarded as the largest race and sportsbook in Las Vegas.
Why Megabucks jackpots keep climbing across Nevada
Megabucks is a wide-area progressive slot system operated by IGT that links qualifying machines across multiple Nevada casinos. Every eligible wager nudges the shared jackpot higher until a player lands the winning combination, allowing prizes to climb into the multimillion-dollar range before resetting.
Winners typically choose between a lump-sum payment or an annuity spread over 25 years. Either option faces a substantial reduction once federal taxes are deducted; the top federal tax bracket is 37% in 2026, which alone could trim the Atlanta winner’s prize by roughly $3.8 million. Financial professionals generally recommend that jackpot winners consult a tax advisor before settling on a payout method.
The win adds to a string of major slot jackpots recorded across Nevada this year — and explains why Megabucks machines remain a steady draw for visitors hoping for a long-shot fortune. Occasionally, a small wager still produces an extraordinary outcome on the casino floor, and this week it happened again at Westgate.
