Multiple Las Vegas sports and entertainment venues topped Billboard’s 2025 list of the world’s highest-grossing locations, generating massive revenue despite drawing fewer attendees than many larger markets.
Two Las Vegas casino theaters ranked among the top-earning venues in the United States for their size. Meanwhile, Allegiant Stadium produced more ticket revenue than any other US stadium.
These rankings come down to two key factors. First, tourists visit Las Vegas specifically for concerts, residencies and major sporting events. Second, ticket prices in the city remain among the highest in the country.
Allegiant Stadium repeats as the top-grossing US stadium
According to Billboard, Allegiant Stadium grossed $269.4 million in ticket sales from 950,000 attendees across 21 events in 2025. It marked the second consecutive year the venue led all comparable US stadiums in ticket revenue.
Allegiant ranked second globally behind Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico, which drew 3.2 million people to 57 shows and grossed $299.2 million. Allegiant also outpaced MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Best known as the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium also hosts major touring concerts and one-off sporting events, including college football games and international soccer matches.
Last year, the stadium welcomed Beyoncé, Post Malone, Coldplay, AC/DC and Kendrick Lamar. It also hosted WrestleMania, neutral-site college football games and the most-attended boxing match in Las Vegas history, featuring Canelo Alvarez and Bud Crawford.
More than 86,000 fans attended the fight, with 85% traveling from outside Nevada. Even more notably, 96% cited the event as their primary reason for visiting Las Vegas.
While that is an extreme example, tourism drives most major events at Allegiant Stadium. More than half of attendees are typically visitors, and in some cases, more than 80% travel specifically for the event.
High ticket prices have not discouraged travelers from building Vegas vacations around major events. Casino operators frequently cite concerts and sports-heavy weekends as key revenue drivers beyond the stadium itself.
Sphere becomes the world’s highest-grossing arena
Sphere is a one-of-a-kind venue that was not designed with sports in mind. While it has hosted a UFC event, most of its schedule consists of daytime films and nighttime concerts.
Billboard reported that Sphere generated more ticket revenue than any other arena worldwide, with a capacity of more than 15,000. In 2025, the venue hosted 105 shows, attracted 1.2 million visitors and grossed $370.3 million. That total surpassed London’s O2 Arena and Madison Square Garden in New York.
Sphere’s success is driven by an experience that cannot be replicated elsewhere. There are no cheap tickets for any shows at Sphere.
Ticket prices for the four-dimensional reimagination of the film “The Wizard of Oz” begin at above $120 before fees. Concert tickets for acts such as the Backstreet Boys can exceed $1,000. Even EDM shows, including Illenium, often cost more than $300 per seat.
There could be an expiration date on some of Sphere’s success. The company is expanding, with a Sphere venue under construction in Dubai and another planned near MGM National Harbor in Maryland. Those additions could keep more East Coast visitors closer to home.
Las Vegas casino theatres punch above thier weight
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace earned the No. 1 spot among theaters with capacities between 2,501 and 5,000. Originally designed for Celine Dion’s residency, the venue grossed $66.4 million from just 64 shows.
For comparison, the runner-up Fox Theatre in Atlanta hosted 179 shows but generated less revenue.
In 2025, the Colosseum featured residencies ranging from comedian Jerry Seinfeld to Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.
The Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas ranked No. 2 among venues with capacities of 2,500 or fewer. Its 116 shows were exactly half the total hosted by Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, which topped the category.
While Caesars Palace leaned heavily on music engagements, Wynn booked many of the biggest names in comedy. The Encore Theater also offered an intimate setting for arena-level stars such as Nate Bargatze and Sebastian Maniscalco.
Why Las Vegas’ venue dominance is likely to continue
These venues are likely to remain leaders in their categories. Despite a decline in visitation, 38.5 million people visited Las Vegas in 2025.
The 2026 Las Vegas event calendar is packed with top artists spanning every genre, from country to heavy metal. Between the content and the venues themselves, many of these shows are unique to Las Vegas.
The dip reflects several factors, including shifts in international travel and broader economic concerns. However, visitors and casino operators remain increasingly focused on high-profile events.
During quarterly earnings calls, executives from Wynn and MGM have continued to emphasize that unique events are central to their strategies. MGM benefits from Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena, while Wynn is directly connected to Sphere via a pedestrian walkway.
Concerts, limited engagements, sports and one-off events generate revenue not only for venues but also for nearby resorts, often driving higher room rates throughout the city.
