Everyone has heard the news, it’s no longer a secret; Michigan online sports betting will launch Friday at noon.

In addition to mobile sportsbooks, long-awaited legal online casinos will also be available to residents of the Wolverine State.

But you’re most certainly here because you want to know which operators will be available on launch day – and we have you covered.

Available Michigan online sportsbooks and online casinos on launch day

Here is a list of the 10 brands that will be available to Michigan residents and visitors.

  1. Barstool
  2. BetMGM
  3. BetRivers
  4. DraftKings
  5. FanDuel
  6. Golden Nugget
  7. PointsBet
  8. TwinSpires
  9. William Hill
  10. WynnBET

Note that most, but not all, brands will have both online sportsbooks and online casinos made available. Barstool Sportsbook and PointsBet will be sports betting only.

Other Michigan operators to watch for

If you don’t see your favorite operator on this list, don’t worry. Other brands like Fox Bet and Parx are expected to be approved and launch in due time.

When speaking about the long-awaited launch of online gambling, Richard Kalm, executive director of the state gaming board, had this to say:

“The Michigan Gaming Control Board and the state’s commercial and tribal casinos will begin a new era Jan. 22 with the launch of regulated online gaming and sports betting,” Kalm said. “Michigan residents love sports and, judging by inquiries we’ve received, eagerly anticipate using mobile devices to place bets through the commercial and tribal casinos. Online gaming and sports betting will provide the casinos with new ways to engage with customers while the state and local communities will benefit from taxes and payments on wagering revenue.”

Big expectations for Michigan online gaming

The online gaming market in Michigan has been talked about ever since Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a series of bills to expand gaming in the state. The rule is simple. Each of the state’s 15 casino operators can partner with one operator for online sports betting, online casino gaming, and online poker.

The gaming environment is also operator friendly. Taxes for each are as follows:

  • 8.4% — online sports betting
  • 20-28% — online casino
  • 20-28% — online poker

If you need some information on how to get started with Michigan online sports betting, we have you covered.

Online sports betting also comes at an opportune time as the NFC and AFC Championship games are scheduled for this week. Residents will also get the chance to place bets on Super Bowl LV, which is scheduled for Sunday, February 7.
