Online slots and video poker deliver million-dollar wins
IGT developed all three games. Aside from the poker variant, MegaJackpots Mistress of Egypt is a proprietary real-money online slot launched in 2022, while Whitney Houston Slots, a themed land-based slot, debuted in 2024.
Themed and proprietary slots continue to trend across the industry, with developers and casino operators expanding their offerings. Caesars and FanDuel, for example, have turned to branded Megaways slots to strengthen their portfolios. BetMGM has also struck a deal with FashionTV to develop luxury-branded interactive table games.
2025’s show-stopping jackpots
The year 2025 saw numerous major jackpot wins across multiple locations. The most notable was the $1.787 billion Powerball prize—the second-largest lottery jackpot in US history—which was split between two players from Texas and Missouri after they matched all six numbers.
DraftKings delivered the largest real-money online casino jackpot win in US history when a player placed a 20-cent wager on the online slot Irish Pot Luck and won $9.28 million. While not the largest win by total amount, the payout was notable for being 46 million times the original wager.
Another major win occurred at Pechanga Resort Casino, where a couple won $4.1 million playing the land-based slot Megabucks Mega Vault during a casual stop after a dinner date. Table games also proved lucrative, as demonstrated by a $2 million jackpot win on Bonus Spin Xtreme by a player at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
