Swedish gaming studio Play’n GO is live in Pennsylvania.

The company announced it launched in the Pennsylvania online casino market via Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers online casino platform this week.

Magnus Natt och Dag, Play’n GO’s North America commercial director, said in a statement the company shares a similar vision with BetRivers:

“We’re excited to expand our US offering into the great state of Pennsylvania and are proud to do so with the innovative and well-respected team at BetRivers, with whom we’ve already enjoyed such great success in recent months. Play’n GO is committed to a safe, sustainable, entertainment-led industry, and we know that the team at BetRivers share that same vision.”

Pennsylvania is the sixth state in which Play’n GO is licensed to offer iGaming titles. Play’n GO announced recently that it launched in the Delaware online casino market through BetRivers, according to PlayPennsylvania.

Key takeaways

  • Play’n GO is quickly expanding in the US, and it’s now in the top-performing US online casino markets.
  • Launching in Pennsylvania opens the company’s games to the biggest market.
  • Play’n GO has more than 300 online slots and table game titles, including Wilde and Sweet Alchemy, that will be available to PA BetRivers players.

Pennsylvania is Play’n GO’s biggest market yet

Play’n GO’s partnership with BetRivers means it can offer its game library to Pennsylvania online casino customers. The company has more than 300 online slots and table game titles. Two of the company’s most successful game franchises are Wilde and Sweet Alchemy.

Play’n GO updates its game library consistently, meaning Pennsylvania iGaming’s customers benefit from fresh gaming titles. Play’n GO has released one new game a week since Feb. 22.

Rush Street Interactive CEO Richard Schwartz said in a Play’n GO press release that the company’s game portfolio was a big draw for them.

“We’re very happy to be expanding our partnership with Play’n Go into Pennsylvania on our BetRivers platform,” Schwartz said. “Play’n Go has an impressive portfolio of popular titles and we are thrilled to offer our BetRivers PA players their innovative and top-quality games.”

Pennsylvania presents a huge opportunity for the company, as the Keystone State has the biggest online casino market in the country. In February, online casinos generated a record $215.3 million in gross revenue.

BetRivers Casino is a major player in the PA online casino market

Play’n GO’s cut of that revenue is likely based on how much money its games generate for BetRivers Casino. No payout details were available in Play’n GO’s press release, but it’s likely the company will less than 50% of the revenue its games bring in.

Working in Play’n GO’s favor is that Rush Street’s BetRivers platform is one of Pennsylvania’s “big three” online casinos. Online casinos from Rush Street, Boyd Gaming, and Penn Entertainment usually make up at least 75% of the state’s online casino revenue.

Of those three companies, BetRivers (NYSE: RSI) has the smallest market share but that share is still around three times as high as the next biggest online casino. For example, here’s how February 2024 gaming revenue in PA looked for the top five online casinos:

  1. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course (Penn): $77.3 million
  2. Valley Forge Casino Resort (Boyd): $44.8 million
  3. Rivers Casino Philadelphia (BetRivers/Rush Street): $29.3 million
  4. Harrah’s Philadelphia (Caesars): $9.9 million
  5. Golden Nugget (Golden Nugget): $5.7 million

In short, Play’n GO’s partnership with BetRivers puts it in the perfect position to generate record revenue from the U.S. iGaming market.
