Bally’s Kansas City spent $40 million to reimagine its facility and now guests can begin to evaluate whether it was money well spent. An expansion of the casino encompassing almost 36,000 square feet is now open to the public.
The expansion includes new gaming opportunities along with amenities for patrons. Should Kansas City residents popularize the renovated venue, it could inspire Bally’s to devote even more resources toward the property.
Expansion of Bally’s Casino in Kansas City incorporates entire facility
Renovations have been ongoing at Bally’s in Kansas City, Missouri, for over two years as is typical of a comprehensive makeover. Before the expansion, Bally’s offered players almost 900 slot machines and 24 gaming tables.
Dining and non-gaming entertainment options were somewhat limited compared to the new offerings as well. The expansion adds to those amenities with new venues like Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse and Sports Bar plus the Celebrity Casino & Lounge.
That lounge in and of itself is part of the additions when it comes to gambling on-site. The Celebrity Casino & Lounge incorporates more than 30 slots plus two gaming tables. Altogether, the expansion adds 200 new games to the property.
Another part of that expansion is a new high-limit slot area. While Bally’s hopes the debut of these additions is sufficient to make its Missouri casino a hot spot in Kansas City, it might not be done with the renovations yet.
Bally’s Casino, Kansas City developments on the horizon
In Bally’s press release, Bally’s Regional Vice President Michael Donovan spoke to the development process that has been ongoing at the casino. Donovan said:
“We are very excited to unveil a transformed Bally’s Kansas City. From the moment guests arrive, they will be greeted with enhanced dining and gaming experiences. We are grateful for the collaborative work of the city and the hundreds of union members who played a critical role in bringing this expansion to reality over the past two years.”
The future transformation plans that Donovan shared in a March post by Thomas Friestad of the Kansas City Business Journal include a new hotel, an amphitheater, and more parking. At this time, however, there is no official confirmation of when that work could begin.
Bally’s Kansas City might take a moment to enjoy the work it has accomplished up to this point. That celebration could be more festive if it comes with increases in gaming revenue at the property.
