Atlantic City’s nine casinos won $294.9 million in casino win, the industry’s term for gross gaming revenue from slot machines and table games, in August. That was down 5.5% from the $311.9 million they won in August 2025.

Harrah’s took the hardest hit. Its casino win fell 13.7% year over year, the steepest drop among the nine casinos. Bally’s was close behind, down 11.7%.

Borgata, the market’s biggest earner by a wide margin, fared better than most. Its $59.2 million in August was down just 1.5% year over year, keeping it well ahead of second-place Hard Rock at $39.7 million.

Zoom out to the first eight months of 2026, and the picture splits. Three of the nine Atlantic City casinos — Borgata, Caesars and Ocean — are running ahead of last year’s pace for casino win. The other six are behind.

Who’s ahead through eight months

Caesars has posted the biggest year-to-date gain of the nine casinos, up 10.9% to $158.5 million.

Ocean is up 5.4% to $329.9 million, the second-largest increase in raw dollars behind Borgata’s $19.5 million gain. Golden Nugget has had the largest year-to-date percentage decline, down 4.7% to $90 million after an 8.4% drop in August alone.

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s monthly report, released Wednesday, across Atlantic City, casino win was $2.01 billion through August, up 1.8% from the same period last year.

The August results cover casino win from slot machines and table games only. Internet gaming was a separate and considerably larger growth story for the month, with casinos and their partners generating $259.3 million, up 4.4% year over year.
