Pennsylvania’s online casinos had a good August. Much of the rest of the state’s gambling market did not.
Online casino revenue reached $245.7 million for the month, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s report released Thursday. That’s up 6.25% from the $231.2 million Pennsylvania’s online casinos generated in August 2025.
The growth stood out. Statewide gaming revenue, including retail and online casinos, sports wagering, video gaming terminals and fantasy contests, fell 2.16% to $569.7 million in August. Retail table games dropped 18.09% year over year, while sports wagering revenue fell 19.92%.
Online casinos were one of the few categories still moving up.
Pennsylvania online casino revenue by game type
Real-money online slots did the heavy lifting. Revenue from online slots hit $195.2 million in August, up 8.84% from a year ago and accounting for 79% of all online casino revenue in Pennsylvania.
Table games played online moved the other way. Online table revenue fell 2.57% to $48.1 million. Online poker slipped 5.15% to $2.4 million.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported $113.5 million in tax revenue generated from online casino play in August.

Which casino operators are winning online in PA
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the market again, with $95.4 million in online casino revenue, up 11.60% from a year ago. Valley Forge Casino Resort held the No. 2 spot at $67.5 million, essentially flat. Rivers Casino Philadelphia was third at $39.9 million, up 9.03%.
Bally’s Pennsylvania and Mohegan Pennsylvania posted the biggest gains on the board, up 54.85% and 71.42%, respectively. Both are still small operators by dollar volume, so a few hundred thousand dollars in additional revenue can push their percentage gains into the double digits.
Wind Creek Bethlehem and Live! Casino Philadelphia went the other direction. Wind Creek’s online casino revenue fell 45.37% to $1.2 million. Live! Philadelphia dropped 49.81% to $1.9 million.
Mount Airy Casino Resort reported no online casino revenue in August. A year earlier, it brought in $2.7 million. The casino ceased offering internet gaming in August, according to the PGCB.

Pennsylvania’s overall gaming revenue fell in August even as online casinos posted year-over-year growth. The September report will show whether online casino growth continues as sports wagering activity picks up during football season.
