Rampart Casino in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas has introduced a new Nevada online poker game. Rampart Online is a real-money game based on 5-Card Draw, available for Android and iOS devices.
This isn’t a traditional online poker game with a full table of players. This is a single-handed, heads-up poker platform that aims to offer an alternative to full-table poker games at WSOP, the only other online poker game in Nevada at this time.
In a press release for Rampart Online Lawrence Vaughan, co-founder of Real Gaming calls this game:
A real paradigm shift. We believe players won’t want to miss this exciting new way to play.
If nothing else, Rampart Online Draw Poker offers Nevada online poker players a different type of online poker game.
Playing Rampart Online Draw Poker
I played a few games to test out the software. It was quick to find a game and the software operated smoothly. Each game probably takes around five seconds.
The app does not allow screenshots so it might take a little longer if you’re trying to take photos or record your session with a different device.
Rampart Casino isn’t the first Las Vegas property one would think of for online casino games. The customer base for the casino located about 20 minutes from the Vegas Strip skews older than most Las Vegas casinos.
Michelle McHugh, vice president and general manager at Rampart Casino said:
Our customers are always looking for new ways to connect with us, and now we’re excited to offer 5 Card Draw Poker in a fast-paced, mobile-first format that our players can’t get enough of.
This is just the latest effort for Rampart to reach players online. The casino also has a partnership with Vegas Low Roller, a YouTube slot channel.
Rampart Online Draw Poker looks like video poker and is set up to be a fast-paced alternative for players looking for a quick poker game. Experienced online poker players can compare Rampart Online to Blast Sit & Go poker games at WSOP Online.
Gameplay is quick and easy:
- Choose one of two Five Card Draw games (Royal Blast and Big Jackpots with Quads)
- Play one hand against up to three other players.
- Discard or hold cards like a Draw Poker game.
That’s it.
Each game is an individual wager. Royal Blast games are $2 or $5. Big Jackpots is a $10 game.
I decided to test the waters with a few $2 Royal Blast Games. I’ll give Big Jackpots a chance if my bankroll gets back over $10.
Funding and Fees
Players can fund their accounts with Venmo, PayPal, or Apple Pay. Each form of payment has an additional fee.
My $15 deposit had a $3.05 fee. A $40 deposit will garner a $10 signup bonus right now but the fee is $4.80, which negates half the promotional reward. A $100 deposit has a $9 fee, or 9%.
The rake for the games will be between 2% and 10%. Nevada Gaming Control Board doesn’t allow online poker websites to take a rake more than 10%.
Games, Paytables, Prizes, And Promotions
In addition to live head-to-head poker, Rampart Online is offering bonuses of up to $4,500 for certain hands and other promotions. According to the Rampart Casino website, players can win $4,500 for a Royal Flush on a $2 bet or $6,500 on a $5 bet playing Royal Blast.
You can see the payouts for a $2 Royal Blast game above. I lost a game but won $0.50 for having Jacks or Better for a payout of $0.50.
The promotional pots are similar to progressives and a portion of each buy-in will contribute to the prizes.
The app has a place for players to include their Rampart Rewards number. The app doesn’t offer reward points at this time. There could be marketing offers and promotions for Rampart Rewards members in the future.
The casino and operator, Real Gaming, are offering new player signup bonuses for those who deposit $40 or more. While Rampart Casino is the brand for this app, the player pool includes anyone in Nevada playing a Real Gaming online poker app.
Real Gaming Network Growing
The large and growing network should allow Nevada online poker players liquidity to always fund a game. Vaughan told PlayUSA that he sees more players at night. There was no wait for a player during the afternoon I tested the game.
Rampart Online Draw Poker is just the latest online poker app for Real Gaming. The company is owned by South Point, which once offered an online poker game.
Vaughn told PlayUSA that there are no plans for a South Point online poker app at this time. In addition to Rampart Casino, Real Gaming has three other Nevada partners that Vaughn referred to as “brand partners.”
Real Gaming also provides the app and online poker network for:
- The Royal for Plaza in downtown Las Vegas
- Terribles Mobile Gaming – Gas stations and convenience stores in Nevada
- MVP Mobile for Legends Bay Casino and Fandango in Northern Nevada
This launch won’t likely be the last we hear about Real Gaming. Vaughn told PlayUSA that the company is always looking for partners to expand its reach and liquidity for players. While the company is looking to grow in Nevada, there are no plans to expand outside of the state.
The company also has plans for a new game that will appear on all of its partner online poker apps sometime early next year.
Will Nevada See More Online Poker Operators In 2025?
Online gaming in Nevada was legalized in 2001. However, poker is the only online casino game available in the Silver State. Sports betting is only available in person or on a mobile device but not on a laptop or desktop computer.
Real Gaming and WSOP Online are the only current online poker operators in Nevada. That could change during the first half of 2025.
Earlier this year two online poker operators received a one-year waiver to keep their Nevada gaming licenses. BetMGM and Z4 Poker both intend on launching online poker in Nevada next year before their licenses expire again.
The two operators have different plans. BetMGM online poker will be a traditional platform that will likely connect with its players in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Z4 Poler currently operates HD Poker, a cartoon-like social poker game.
