Station Casinos announced a slew of upgrades to Green Valley Ranch. The renovations might be a surprise to some, but regulars at the Henderson casino should already be enjoying some of the changes.
Most of the attention on Station Casinos this year has been on future property developments. Durango Casino and Hotel is scheduled to open later this year. The company will look to build new properties elsewhere around the Las Vegas Valley after Durango is open.
Earlier this year Station Casinos’ parent company, Red Rock Resorts, and the Oakland A’s came to a binding agreement for the Major League Baseball team to buy 49 acres of land on the west side of the I-15. The A’s have since switched their focus to building a stadium on a portion of the land where Tropicana is currently operating on the Vegas Strip.
The upgrades at Green Valley Ranch follow similar improvements to Red Rock Casino in Summerlin. The property will see new restaurants and gambling spaces while the pool area already has a new look.
The transformation of Green Valley Ranch is underway and will continue into 2024.
New bar and poolside amenities
The first change at Green Valley Ranch is already open. Guests have been enjoying Polaris Bar.
This bar is similar to the elevated video poker bar at Red Rock Casino with the same name. Polaris has 20 bartop machines, enough television screens to watch all of the games (or Seinfeld) as well as a craft cocktail menu.
Guests will also see a new look at the Green Valley Ranch Backyard pool area. The space has been refreshed with new decor and cabanas, daybeds, chaise lounges, umbrellas, and a café seating area.
New restaurant row
The buffet at Green Valley Ranch closed during the Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t reopened. Similar to Red Rock Casino this space will be home to a new restaurant row at Green Valley Ranch.
The casino is adding two new restaurants. The first restaurant concept is the first Henderson outlet of Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill.
The Bromberg Bros., operators of Blue Ribbon restaurants, will be announcing an all-new Mediterranean restaurant in the future. Not coincidentally, Red Rock Casino has a Blue Ribbon sushi restaurant and recently opened Naxos Taverna — a Mediterranean restaurant — during its recent renovations.
New high-limit gaming spaces
Along with Red Rock Casino, Green Valley Ranch is a premium Station Casinos property. The new upgrades take that into account and the company is elevating spaces for high-limit gamblers.
Green Valley Ranch will soon open a new high-limit table games room. The space will have 10 games including single zero roulette, double deck blackjack, six-deck blackjack where the dealer stands on 17, and midi baccarat.
The room will also feature an upscale gaming bar. In addition to table games, there will be 10 bartop gaming machines in the new high-limit room.
Slot machine players won’t be left out. They’ll have their own high-limit room.
The new high-limit slot room will have 125 games. This room will also have a bar with 14 bartop gaming machines.
Up next: Durango Casino & Resort
Durango Casino & Resort is under construction and is on schedule to open before the year is over. The property located just off I-215 at Durango Drive is about 15 minutes away from the south end of the Vegas Strip.
The property will feature a 200-room hotel tower. Another hotel tower could be added in the future if there’s demand for more rooms.
The 83,000-square-foot casino floor will feature slot machines, table games (live and electronic), and a state-of-the-art sportsbook.
Durango will have four full-service restaurants and a food hall with more than 10 options for everything from morning coffee to late-night ice cream.
Henderson casino on deck
It appears as though the next Station Casinos property to be built after Durango is completed will be in Henderson.
Last year, the Henderson City Council approved a land sale to Station Casinos. Earlier this year Station Casinos shared some information on its next property in the Inspirada area.

Construction on the Inspirada casino is scheduled for early 2024. The company is targeting an opening date of March 2025.
