As of this review, Moonspin is primarily a cryptocurrency casino. It allows players to purchase Gold Coins using popular cryptocurrency wallets, though purchases are not required.

How Moonspin works
Social and sweepstakes casinos like Moonspin are available in most US states—even those without real money online casinos. They use a free-to-play model with the opportunity to get cash prizes. Moonspin counts itself among the growing number of sweepstakes casinos for this reason. Here’s a bit more about how it works.
The main thing to know about Moonspin is that it offers two types of virtual currency. Gold Coins (GC) are the base currency. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed. You use Gold Coins to play casino-style games at Moonspin. If you win Gold Coins by playing, you get more Gold Coins. Moonspin offers Gold Coins for purchase, but as we’ve mentioned already, you are never required to make a purchase.
Moon Coins (MC) are considered a premium currency. They can never be purchased directly. Instead, Moon Coins are given for free as part of promotions or when you purchase Gold Coins. Moon Coins come with a wagering requirement of 3x, meaning you need to play with them at least three times before they can be withdrawn. One MC is worth $1 when you withdraw. There’s a catch, though. That’s only if you made a purchase. Players who use Moonspin for free must play through MC 35 times. We don’t use this word often in our reviews, but it’s warranted here: RIDICULOUS.
Moonspin website review
Moonspin’s desktop website is solid overall. The aesthetic is simple and easy on the eyes, with a black background and colorful game thumbnails. In our time with the site, games loaded swiftly and played with no lag.
The main navigation menu on the left-hand side can be confusing at first. The abstract icons don’t match up well with their corresponding categories. For example, the fire icon takes you to Moonspin’s original games, while the diamond takes you to popular games. Expanding the menu displays the text for each category, so this is a small issue overall. However, the text is a tad perplexing, too. The slots icon is listed next to “Hottest Slots,” so it’s unclear if clicking the category will show you all slots or just the most popular. The presence of the Popular Games category further complicates this. Suffice it to say navigation works, but using the categories is difficult at first.
Other than that, Moonspin’s website offers a good experience. The homepage has a great layout. Our favorite feature was the “Popular” section, which displayed the 10 most popular titles on the site.
Moonspin app
Moonspin does not have a mobile app for iOS or Android devices. This is a slight drawback, but it’s hard to dock the site too many points for it. Most sweepstakes or social casinos don’t offer apps.
You can still play Moonspin on mobile devices if you wish. It’s available on mobile browsers such as Chrome or Safari. We tried playing this way, and it was fine overall. The layout is responsive, and the games play well on mobile devices. We experienced some longer-than-desired loading times, though that could result from a slow cell signal.
When playing on mobile, you can bookmark Moonspin on your homepage, making it look and feel similar to an app. Clicking the Moonspin icon will take you to the site, provided you have a good connection.
Games offered at Moonspin
Moonspin has a bevy of casino-style games and originals, including slots and a few takes on table games. Here’s a quick look at each game category and some of our favorite titles.
Slots
Moonspin has more than 50 slot games on offer. Here are a few of our favorites.
- Piggy Detective: Join a Sherlock Holmes-esque pig as he solves mysteries in this sleuth slot game.
- Chili Desert: This game brings the heat! It’s a spicy title with plenty of peppers, skulls, and other imagery from Latin culture.
- Kitty Cats: For your daily dose of cuteness, give Kitty Cats a try. The game is populated by plenty of fuzzy felines.
- Alchemy Book: Hop into a whimsical fantasy world where magical spells and mystical potions are plentiful!
- Reels on Fire: If you’ve ever dreamed of a slot game with hunky firefighters, then your dream has come true.
The Moonspin slots library is worth a look in general. However, it needs to be improved compared to many other sweepstakes online casinos. Competing sites like Pulsz and McLuck offer hundreds of games and feature some of the world’s top developers. Moonspin’s games are usually knock-offs of popular game themes. This doesn’t make the games bad by any means, but it led to a lackluster slots experience for us as we played for this review.
Originals
Moonspin Casino has eight original games. Some are takes on existing casino games. Roulette and HiLo are both offered, for example. Others are further off the beaten path.
One of the most unique originals is the oddly named “When Moon Bro.” It is classified as a “car crash” game, in which a car shoots forward and accelerates, raising your payout along with it. At some point, the car will crash, and any bets will lose. You can stop at any point to accept the current payout listed when you stop the round. If you’re familiar with “Crash” games, it’s essentially the same thing. In fact, Moonspin has its own game called Crash, which uses the same concept.
Other originals include Chart Betting, Dice, Limbo, and Wheel of Fortune.
Moonspin purchase options
While you can purchase Gold Coins at Moonspin, it’s never required. You can play for free using the GC and MC you get from promotions without making a purchase. The option remains available, though, and Moonspin accepts purchases with various cryptocurrencies.
The cryptocurrencies currently accepted at Moonspin are:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ripple (XRP)
- Tether (USDT)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Tron (TRX)
When you purchase Gold Coins from Moonspin, you will usually gain some MC for free. Here are the GC purchases offered and the free MC you get with them.
Purchase price | Gold Coins | Free Moon Coins with purchase |
---|---|---|
$10 | 10,000 GC | 10.10 MC |
$25 | 25,000 GC | 25.50 MC |
$50 | 50,000 GC | 52 MC |
$100 | 100,000 GC | 105 MC |
$250 | 250,000 GC | 256 MC |
$500 | 500,000 GC | 520 MC |
More ways to get Gold Coins and free Moon Coins at Moonspin Casino
Outside of making a purchase, there are other ways to get GC and MC from Moonspin. The primary method is via the welcome bonus, which grants up to 30,000 GC and 3 MC.
Additionally, Moonspin offers a “rakeback bonus system” that gives players a percentage of the house edge back. Right now, the rakeback is given at a rate of 10%, but Moonspin plans to introduce a tiered system soon with the following structure:
- Instant rakeback: Instant rakeback of 5%
- Weekly rakeback: Weekly rakeback of 3%
- Monthly rakeback: Monthly rakeback of 2%
Eventually, rakeback will be determined by your player level, with higher-level players getting higher percentages.
You can claim a daily no-deposit bonus of 1,000 Gold Coins and 0.30 Moon Coins from Moonspin daily. Claim the bonus in your “Daily Bonus” tab and select “Claim Daily Bonus.”
Moonspin redemption for cash prizes
In theory, you can withdraw Moon Coins for cash prizes. In practice, it’s difficult to do so—far more difficult than at other sweepstakes casinos, even those like Chanced and Sweeptastic, which have more demanding redemption requirements. First, Moonspin imposes playthrough requirements. These mean you have to play your Moon Coins numerous times before you’re allowed to redeem them.
If you make a purchase, the playthrough is 3x, which is already higher than most sweepstakes casinos. If you don’t make a purchase, the playthrough requirement is a whopping 35x. That is astronomical, making Moonspin largely prohibitive to players who don’t wish to buy Gold Coins.
Further, if you haven’t made a purchase, you are capped at $100 worth of redemptions (100 MC). While Moonspin boasts that purchases aren’t required, getting the full experience without buying something is hard, making the site nearly impossible to recommend.
If you somehow surmount all the obstacles Moonspin places, you can redeem your coins to a cryptocurrency wallet. As if all the information above wasn’t enough, Moonspin takes a commission on all withdrawals.
Moonspin customer support channels
There are two ways to get support at Moonspin. We recommend making the FAQ page your first resort. It has a variety of questions and answers. If you have a common issue or inquiry, chances are it has been answered by the FAQ page.
For a more personal touch, you can start a live chat by clicking the “Help” icon at the bottom of the homepage. Enter your name and email address to get started. The default option is to chat with an AI-powered bot. Our experience was good; we asked which markets allow Moonspin, and the bot responded with a comprehensive list of available and prohibited markets. IT also included suggestions on where to find more information.
After that interaction, we typed “Live Agent” to talk to a real person. The chat gave us a “Talk to an expert” link. The agent responded within a few minutes and was generally helpful.
Sites like Moonspin
You’ve probably gathered that we don’t recommend Moonspin. Its practices are not friendly to players, and the barrier to entry of requiring a crypto account is tough to overcome. We recommend trying some of our more trusted online sweepstakes casinos for these and many other reasons.
High 5 has one of the best game libraries of any social casino. Give it a spin for some amazing titles, plus a third virtual currency called diamonds, which can be redeemed for special perks.
Pulsz has it all: great games (hundreds, in fact), a solid user experience, and a bingo site for players who like some dauber action.
