Georgia sports betting efforts died Thursday when Republicans wouldn't agree to Democrat demands over putting revenue toward needs-based education funding.
The Georgia Senate on Tuesday passed SR579, a constitutional amendment to legalize sports betting, by a vote of 41-12. Georgia voters are one step closer to having their say about legalizing sports betting.
Sen. Bill Cowsert told PlayUSA that he will introduce a Senate Resolution on Friday to amend the state constitution to permit the General Assembly to provide for the operation and regulation of Georgia sports betting.
