I must note that the intro to Gonzo’s Quest 2 feels somewhat underwhelming. It doesn’t do the game much justice, considering all the work that’s gone into it.
The Amazon-inspired theme is the first thing that will catch your attention, especially if you’ve played the original. I think the theme is quite clever, considering that Eldorado is the lost city of gold and that the Amazon makes for a great adventure.
It also won’t take much time for you to notice the many exciting, innovative bonus features, which will leave you curious and make you want to keep playing. For example, Colossal Symbols are quite regular, and you definitely can’t miss them. This isn’t surprising, though, considering that NetEnt is popular for its innovative features, such as the Avalanche feature.

Presentation seems to matter a great deal in Gonzo’s Quest 2. It’s expected, as NetEnt would want to make it clearly distinct from the original Gonzo’s Quest and the Megaways version released by Red Tiger in 2020.
Many visual aspects of the game haven’t changed. The dense jungle in the background is the same, as is the stone grid. The symbols remain the same as well. However, the immersive 3D effect and crisp, cinematic graphics make everything look sharper. Additionally, little Gonzo standing on the left side seems to react to your actions much more smoothly, which makes the gameplay more engaging.

The soundtrack in Gonzo’s Quest 2 goes well with the theme. It gives off hints of Spanish guitars and panpipes, which give off adventurous vibes. Some of the sound effects are also quite exciting, especially the reassuring thud that comes after a win and the Avalanche effect. However, a few sound effects can feel annoying after some time.

All of the various bonus features in Gonzo’s Quest 2 can make the gameplay quite interesting. Luckily for me, a few bonus features triggered as I was playing. I got to experience the convenience of Colossal Symbols and, of course, the iconic Avalanche effect a few times.
Unfortunately, not all bonus features are easy to come by. For example, Wilds don’t usually land in enough numbers, and I can only conclude that the Super Free Spins are super rare. Colossal Scatters also take some time to load. Still, it is exciting to see some of these innovative features in action.
The Bonus Buy feature grants you access to many bonus features. However, some of the features cost too much, up to 1,000X your stake, which isn’t necessarily worth it.
