Atlantic City’s casinos reclaimed some of the spotlight from New Jersey’s booming online gambling market in July, generating $304.2 million in in-person casino win.

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) July 2026 report, the nine casino hotels posted a 7.1% increase from the $284.1 million generated in July 2025. Table games led the growth, rising 9.5% to $78.1 million, while slot revenue increased 6.2% to $226.1 million.

The July performance pushed Atlantic City’s year-to-date casino win to $1.72 billion, up 3.1% from the first seven months of 2025.

Borgata holds lead as Caesars posts biggest gain

Borgata remained Atlantic City’s top-performing casino in July, generating $81.6 million in casino win, up 2.1% from a year earlier.

Caesars posted the month’s biggest percentage increase among the nine properties, with casino win climbing 34.6% to $25.3 million. Ocean Casino Resort also delivered a strong performance, rising 21% to $52.2 million.

Bally’s was the only casino to report a year-over-year decline. Its July casino win fell 13.7% to $12.2 million.

Overall, eight of Atlantic City’s nine casinos generated more in-person casino revenue than they did in July 2025.

Physical casinos surpass online gaming revenue

July marked a notable shift in New Jersey’s gaming market.

Internet gaming win for the state’s casinos and their partners reached a record $276.9 million in July, up 12% from $247.3 million a year earlier. Despite that record online performance, Atlantic City’s brick-and-mortar casinos generated $27.3 million more during the month.

It was the first month of 2026 in which in-person casino win surpassed statewide internet gaming win.

New Jersey online casinos remain ahead for the year, however. Internet gaming win totaled $1.87 billion through July, compared with $1.72 billion for Atlantic City’s physical casinos. Online gaming was also growing much faster, up 14.5% year to date compared with 3.1% growth for in-person casino win.

That makes July’s result more of a bright spot for Atlantic City casinos than a reversal of New Jersey’s broader shift toward online gaming.

New York City casinos raise stakes for Atlantic City

Atlantic City’s competitive landscape is also changing as New York expands its casino market.

Resorts World New York City, in Queens, opened more than 200 live table games in April, becoming New York City’s first full casino with live table games. The property is also planning a larger expansion that will add a hotel, restaurants, entertainment space and additional gaming capacity.

Two other full-scale casinos have received licenses: Hard Rock Metropolitan Park near Citi Field in Queens and Bally’s Bronx at Ferry Point. Both are still years away from completion, giving Atlantic City some additional time before facing the full impact of the new New York City competition.

That competition matters because New York City has historically been an important feeder market for Atlantic City. The opening of Resorts World and the eventual arrival of the other two casinos could give New York-area customers more options closer to home.

For now, though, Atlantic City has delivered a strong July. The $304.2 million in casino win gave the city’s physical casinos their biggest monthly performance of 2026 and put them ahead of online gaming for the first time this year.

The challenge will be determining whether that momentum can continue as the market moves beyond the peak summer months and New York’s casino expansion progresses.
