Mega Millions players will have another shot at a life-changing prize after Tuesday night’s drawing produced no jackpot winner.
The estimated jackpot has climbed to $672 million for Friday night’s drawing, making it the 10th-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and the biggest lottery prize of 2026 so far.
Players in participating jurisdictions can also purchase Mega Millions tickets online, giving lottery fans another way to enter Friday’s drawing. No ticket matched all six winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing.

Another rollover sends Mega Millions soaring
The winning numbers for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing were 2, 4, 10, 48 and 56, with the Gold Mega Ball 22. Because no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot rolled over once again ahead of Friday night’s drawing.
The current jackpot run began after an Illinois ticket won $536 million in March, resetting the jackpot to its starting amount. An Ohio player then claimed a $60 million jackpot one week later. Since then, no player has matched all six numbers, allowing the prize to continue growing.
Winner faces two payout options
Friday’s drawing is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the US Virgin Islands.
The jackpot winner can choose between:
- $672 million annuity, paid over 30 years.
- $293.3 million cash option before taxes.
After the mandatory 24% federal withholding, the cash option would be worth about $222.9 million. Depending on the winner’s total taxable income and state of residence, the final take-home amount could be substantially lower.

Mega Millions continues to outpace Powerball in 2026
Mega Millions has produced the year’s largest lottery jackpot, surpassing the $536 million prize won in Illinois in March.
Powerball has yet to match that pace. The largest Powerball jackpot won in 2026 remains $250.8 million, claimed by a player in Arkansas. Meanwhile, the current Powerball jackpot stands at an estimated $498 million, trailing its lottery rival.
Odds of winning remain extraordinarily long
Despite the growing jackpot, the odds remain daunting. A Mega Millions ticket has approximately a 1-in-290.4 million chance of winning the jackpot, only slightly better than Powerball’s 1-in-292.2 million odds.
According to a news article by Forbes, ticket sales typically surge as jackpots climb, and Friday’s drawing is expected to attract another wave of players. If no ticket matches all six numbers again, the jackpot will continue to grow.
