Oklahoma Online Casinos

Oklahoma online casinos are not legal. There are more than 140 land-based casinos in the Sooner State, but lawmakers have not yet authorized real-money casino apps and websites.

Sweepstakes casinos are no longer an option either. Senate Bill 1589 took effect Nov. 1, 2026, making it a felony to operate or support prohibited online casino games that use redeemable virtual currency, like the Sweeps Coins previously available at sites accepting Oklahoma players.

On this page, I'll walk you through what the new law means for you, which forms of gambling are still legal in Oklahoma, and where you can play casino games without breaking the law.

Will Oklahoma legalize online casinos in the future?

Oklahoma is unlikely to legalize traditional online casinos any time soon. Tribal casinos support 89,402 jobs in the Sooner State and contribute $12.19 billion annually to the local economy, according to the American Gaming Association. Online casinos would naturally disrupt that business, which is vital to the economic health of Native American tribes in the state, so they would oppose any plans to introduce casino apps and websites.

No forms of online casino gambling have been legalized in Oklahoma. Fantasy sports apps accept players in the state, although Oklahoma has never explicitly permitted them to do so. Pari-mutuel betting is also legal, so the TwinSpires online racebook accepts players located in Oklahoma, although the law does not specifically mention online gambling.

If anything, Oklahoma has moved in the opposite direction. SB 1589 bans dual-currency sweepstakes casinos while preserving exceptions for qualifying tribal gaming under federal law. Any future expansion into regulated online casinos would likely require new legislation and negotiations with the state's tribal gaming industry.

What online casino games are available in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma's tribal casinos offer most of the games you'd find at a major US casino resort. You can also try free versions of these games right here on PlayUSA, with no money or coins involved, which is a great way to learn the rules before you visit a casino floor.

There are 139 tribal casinos in Oklahoma, which is more than any other state. There are also two commercial casinos, which are operated by tribes but not located on tribal lands, taking the overall total to 141, according to the American Gaming Association. These are the most popular casinos to visit in Oklahoma.

Why you should avoid offshore online casinos in Oklahoma

With dual-currency sweepstakes casinos now banned in Oklahoma, offshore casino sites may try to fill the gap. These sites are based in countries like Curaçao and Costa Rica, and they have no legal authorization to operate in the United States, but they still target players in Oklahoma.

You will not benefit from state or federal consumer protection laws if you sign up with unregulated casinos. If a site refuses to pay your winnings, freezes your account, or mishandles your personal information, you'll have no regulator to turn to for help.

Unfortunately, many players have been scammed at unregulated casinos, and others have had their data stolen. You cannot rely on unregulated online casinos to treat you fairly or to keep your data safe, so it's important to avoid those sites and stick to Oklahoma's legal options, such as tribal casinos, the state lottery, and pari-mutuel horse racing.

Responsible gambling in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming provides a self-assessment screener, which can help you gauge your level of risk. The site features a list of providers that offer outpatient treatment programs, which are funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. There is also a statewide self-exclusion program, which allows you to ban yourself from Oklahoma’s gambling establishments.

If you need immediate support, you can call 1-800-GAMBLER. This toll-free helpline is available 24/7, and all calls are strictly confidential. The Oklahoma Office of Management & Enterprise Services has a list of additional resources that you can access.

Oklahoma online casinos FAQ

No. As of Nov. 1, 2026, SB 1589 prohibits online casino games that use redeemable virtual currencies in Oklahoma. That means dual-currency sweepstakes casinos can no longer legally offer cash-prize gaming to Oklahoma players. If you have an outstanding Sweeps Coin balance from before the ban, check the operator’s terms and contact customer support about any remaining redemption options.

There are no legal real-money online casino games in Oklahoma, and sweepstakes casinos are banned as of November 1, 2026. You can still play free casino games with no prize redemption, and you’ll find slots, blackjack, roulette, video poker, and many other table games at Oklahoma’s tribal casinos.

The legal gambling age is 18 in Oklahoma. Players aged 18 or older can visit a tribal casino, although some venues require you to be 21 or older if they serve alcohol. You can also buy lottery tickets, place pari-mutuel bets, take part in charity games, or enter fantasy sports contests if you are 18 or older in Oklahoma.

The tribes have their own gaming commissions, such as the Choctaw Nation Gaming Commission and the Chickasaw Nation Office of the Gaming Commission. There is also an overarching Oklahoma Tribal Gaming Regulators Association, a non-profit association that helps them share best practice.

The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission oversees pari-mutuel wagering, and the Oklahoma Lottery Commission runs the state lottery. Meanwhile, the Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission licenses and regulates charitable gaming in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has the second largest Native American population in the United States. There are 38 federally recognized tribes in the state, and they depend on the revenues earned from their tribal casinos. As such, they have built lots of tribal casinos, many of which are close to the border with Texas, which only has a couple of land-based casinos.

There are two commercial casinos in Oklahoma: Remington Park and Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs. They are both operated by tribes, but they are not located on tribal lands, so they are officially classified as commercial casinos. The Chickasaw Nation runs the casino at Remington Park and the Cherokee Nation owns the casino at Will Rogers Downs.

No. Dual-currency sweepstakes casinos have been banned in Oklahoma since Nov. 1, 2026, under Senate Bill 1589. The law makes operating or supporting prohibited online casino games involving redeemable virtual currencies a felony. Free-to-play social casinos without cash or prize redemption generally remain available.

It depends on the operator. Some sweepstakes casinos announced their Oklahoma exit ahead of the Nov. 1, 2026, ban, while others switched to Gold Coin-only play. If you still have an outstanding Sweeps Coin balance or a pending redemption, check the site’s terms and contact customer support. Redemption deadlines and procedures vary by operator.

Other legal gambling options in Oklahoma

Although Oklahoma doesn't permit real-money online casinos or dual-currency sweepstakes casinos, residents still have other gambling and gaming options.

  • Tribal casinos: Oklahoma has more than 140 land-based casinos, including WinStar World Casino, Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant and River Spirit Casino.
  • Free social casino games: You can play qualifying casino-style games using virtual credits that cannot be redeemed for cash or prizes.
  • Horse racing: Pari-mutuel wagering is legal in Oklahoma, including through authorized online horse racing platforms.
  • Daily fantasy sports: Fantasy sports operators accept Oklahoma players, although the state does not have a dedicated regulatory framework for these contests.
  • Oklahoma Lottery: Residents can purchase lottery tickets through authorized retailers.

For now, these remain alternatives to regulated real-money online casino gaming in Oklahoma.
