Magic Mummy Megaways

How I tested Magic Mummy Megaways slot

PlayUSA’s standard review process involves playing for either 150 spins or 15 minutes, whichever comes first. The goal is to try to unlock all of the game’s features and get an accurate feel of its actual volatility levels.

While I lost track of the number of spins, I reckon that I played this game for more than 15 minutes. During this time, I unlocked the Free Spins bonus round, managed to bag two or three noteworthy wins, and got to see other features like the Wilds in action.

Indeed, the game has high volatility, as I lost considerably more rounds than I won. However, I almost broke even, thanks to the few big wins.

My first impressions from playing Magic Mummy Megaways slot

I expected the usual doom-and-gloom of mummy slots, but was pleasantly surprised to see a more cheery style. The bright, colorful visuals are unmissable, and the comic-style art is heartwarming. The reels feel smooth, and the animations make the experience even more engaging and immersive.

I was also excited to see the game’s various bonus features, which include Free Spins, a cascading-reels-style mechanic, Wilds, and more. Overall, Magic Mummy Megaways has a go-getter vibe.

Visuals and presentation of Magic Mummy Megaways slot | 4.5/5

While there are many other slots based on the Egypt and mummy genres, Magic Mummy Megaways tries to stand out with its comical art style. It’s not all about ancient tombs and deadly curses, as the overall theme and style feel lighthearted.

The game also uses smooth animations for a more engaging experience. Notably, there are colorful spirits that hover above the reels, acting as visual trackers. Moreover, there are dynamic symbols that burst after forming winning combinations.

Sounds and music in Magic Mummy Megaways | 4.5/5

As with the visuals, the audio in Magic Mummy Megaways is also cheerful and upbeat. It makes you think more about the treasures hidden in the tombs than the mummies and curses. There are also arcade-style sound effects for features like bonuses and wins, which help build up excitement.

Bonus features in Magic Mummy Megaways | 4.2/5

Magic Mummy Megaways has a few standard bonus features. They include Free Spins, which range from 12 to 22 depending on the number of Bonus symbols. There are also Wilds, which also double as multipliers during the Free Spins round.

The game also has a Refilling feature that eliminates winning symbols from the grid and replaces them with new symbols. I should also mention the Megaways slot mechanic, which makes the outcomes more unpredictable. However, that’s just about it, and I was disappointed that there aren’t more bonus features.

Tips for maximizing your Magic Mummy Megaways slot experience

You need some patience to enjoy Magic Mummy Megaways. Remember, this is a high-volatility game, which means that wins can be few and far apart. As such, I’d advise reducing your wagers to stretch your balance. It would also be wise to focus more on the fun than on winning. This is one of few cheery mummy-themed slots after all.

My biggest win on Magic Mummy Megaways

My biggest win on Magic Mummy Megaways real money slot was $46. Notably, this didn’t come from one single spin – I won it after unlocking the Free Spins bonus round. My biggest win on a single spin was about $8. I should also note that my wager per spin was $1.

My final thoughts on Magic Mummy Megaways

Magic Mummy Megaways is undoubtedly fun and can be very rewarding with a bit of luck. I find that this game does a great job of standing out from the crowd. However, while the existing bonus features are great, I wish that it offered more. My overall rating for this game is 4.3/5.

How does Magic Mummy Megaways compare to similar slot games?

There’s no shortage of slots based on the mummy theme, including those from this same developer. For example, Book of Cats Megaways, also from BGaming, is based on ancient Egyptian mythology and features the Megaways mechanic, although it doesn’t feel as light-hearted. Mummy Megaways from NetEnt is also all about mummies, but the theme is more cinematic.
