Real Player Reviews: Write your own
Ever since Novamatic launched its hugely popular game, Book of Ra, in land-based casinos in 2005, other game developers have been creating their own book series slots. Red 7 is the latest to join the party with its 5×3, 10-pay-line Egyptian-themed entry, Book of Relics Mega Drop, which features the typical expanding symbols and scatter wins but adds jackpots to the tried and true format. Enter the pharaoh’s tomb and see what treasures you’ll find.

Bonus and jackpots for Book of Relics Mega Drop slot (Rating of 3.5/5)
Book of Relics Mega Drop follows the book series format with the addition of progressive jackpots.
Scatter wins
Like other book-series slots, the Book of Relics symbol is both the wild and scatter. When three or more books appear, you receive both a scatter win that is a multiple of your total bet and free spins, as follows:
- Three books: 10 free spins at 2x
- Four books: 15 free spins at 20x
- Five books: 20 free spins at 200x
Free spins
Before the free spins starts, the book opens and scrolls through the symbols to select one that will expand during the bonus feature. Whenever the chosen symbol appears on three or more reels, it expands to a stack of three symbols.
Wins that include the expanded symbols don’t have to start on the left-most reel. Three or more expanded symbols anywhere on a pay-line grant you a win. Regular pay-line wins are tallied before the symbol expands, so you have a chance for double-wins with each spin.
If three or more books appear, it triggers additional free spins at the same rate.
Progressive jackpots
This game adds some spice to the book-series format by including random progressive jackpots. The game rules state that 2% of your total bet is distributed among the three jackpots: minor, major, and epic. Each jackpot is required to be awarded prior to reaching a predetermined limit. Jackpots can drop as wins at any point before the limit is reached. The accumulative progressive jackpot feature isn’t available on the demo version.
While the jackpots are a nice deviation from the book series format, more creativity in the game design would make this version more original.
Book of Relics Mega Drop slot graphics and visuals (Rating of 4/5)
Book of Relics Mega Drop has a gold-framed reel set centered in a sand-swept tomb, guarded by statues of Anubis. In addition to the usual card symbols, the animated premium symbols include recognizable famous Egyptian figures and discoveries, such as Queen Nephratiti, King Tutankhamen, a burial dagger and sheath, and a statue of Ra, the sun god. The Anubis statues are made with 3D, high-quality graphics. The visuals overall are very good and add tremendously to the game experience.
Book of Relics Mega Drop slot gameplay (Rating of 3/5)
Book of Relics Mega Drop follows the “recipe” of the book-series format to the tee, besides the addition of jackpots. If you’ve already played other book series slots, you’ll notice that the only significant difference in this game is the graphic design and sound design, which is superior to most. The jackpots don’t add as much as we’d prefer to the gameplay, and the game would have been more fun with more originality in the game design.
Overall rating for Book of Relics Mega Drop by Red 7 (Rating of 3.5/5)
With its great graphics, Book of Relics Mega Drop is a welcome upgrade to the book series slots, from a visual standpoint. The jackpots do add to the excitement of the overall game experience, but we would have liked to see more diversions from the standard book series format. You should give Book of Relics Mega Drop a try for yourself and see if it’s your favorite book series slot. Considering the pros and cons, we give Book of Relics Mega Drop an overall rating of 3.5/5.
