Rotiki highlights

  • Played on an eye-catching 6×8 grid array
  • Treasure Room bonus is fun and unique
  • Wilds can reveal special Tiki Magic features

Our time with Rotiki was a blast. The game has an excellent theme that made us feel like we were explorers uncovering an ancient and mystical civilization. The game has high volatility, though, so wins are relatively infrequent, but they can yield large wins if you’re lucky. Keep that in mind when deciding to play Rotiki.

How to play the Rotiki slot

Rotiki is simple on its surface, though many of the mechanics are complex. To play, you click “spin” and watch the symbols rotate on the grid, hoping to land winning clusters.

Game rules

The Rotiki slot game rules are available from the main game screen. Select the blue “i” button to bring them up. The window that opens will run through most of the core mechanics of Rotiki as well as the special features (more on those further down this page).

How to read paylines

Unlike traditional slows, Rotiki has a cluster pays system. There aren’t any formal paylines. Instead, you strive to land five or more adjacent symbols. Only orthogonal directions count; diagonals aren’t considered adjacent.

Clusters with more than five symbols will pay more based on the value of the symbols within the winning combination. Read on for full symbol values in the “How Rotiki Works” section below.

Ways to spin

The primary way to spin in Rotiki is by pressing or clicking the “spin” button. It’s the big green circle with arrows in it. You can use it to initiate individual spins. Between those spins, you can change your bet with the plus or minus buttons or the numbered buttons with specific bet amounts.

Alternatively, you can use auto-play. It’s the big orange button with arrows and a play symbol in it. Set your bet amount before clicking it and then choose your options. You can select 10, 20, 50, 75, or 100 spins. You can also choose to stop auto-play when certain conditions are met:

  • On any win
  • If the bonus game is won
  • If a single win exceeds ‘x’ amount
  • If your balance increases by ‘x’ amount
  • If your balance decreases by ‘x’ amount

For the last three stop measures, you can use the slider to choose your thresholds. You can stop autoplay at any time during your spins as well.

Rotiki’s RTP is 96.2%. This means the game trends toward a payout of $96.20 for every $100 wagered. This is not a guarantee; it is a measure of how much a game tends to return to players over long periods of time.

How Rotiki works

As we’ve mentioned, Rotiki uses the cluster pays mechanic. Let’s examine the values of each symbol in the game.

Rotiki symbols

The more symbols appearing in a cluster, the more you’ll win. Each symbol has an assigned value, as shown in the table below.

5+1x0.8x0.6x0.4x0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2x

The non-mask symbols all have the same values, which makes things fairly easy to track as you’re playing.

Special symbol: WILD

The WILD symbol in Rotiki is a golden square with a pink “W” on it. It substitutes for all other symbols and can randomly trigger a Tiki Magic power. More on Tiki Magic below.

Rotiki bonus rounds and features

The main bonus in Rotiki is the Treasure Room. You can access it by filling the grid with matching symbols during a single game round. Along the way to the Treasure Room, various features can assist you.

Respins

Any time you land a cluster of five or more symbols in Rotiki, the winning combination will remain on the board, and you will receive three respins. During respins, the goal is to fill the entire board with winning combinations. If you do so, you unlock the treasure room.

Whenever you complete a full row within the respins feature, you will refresh your respins.

If respins end without a full board, you receive the winnings and spin again. The respins reset completely after each game round.

Tiki Magic

WILD symbols appearing in a winning cluster can trigger special powers after respins. Once respins end, WILDs have a chance to initiate one of two magical powers. The first is called Hanumi, and it only happens in the presence of two or more clusters. The connected clusters merge into a single cluster, defaulting to the higher-paying symbol value.

The second magic is called Whakarei. It happens only when a WILD is part of one cluster. The wild symbol’s entire surrounding cluster upgrades to a mask symbol.

If a Tiki magic feature fills a new row, the respin feature will continue.

Treasure Room

Filling the entire grid will open the Treasure Room, with opportunities to multiply wins up to 10x. When you enter the bonus, you smash tiles to reveal tiles—unused respins turn into picks. There are four different symbols to uncover:

  • X symbol: awards nothing
  • Spiral: +5 picks
  • Tiki: +1 multiplier
  • Special (Mask): automatically multiplies your win by 10x

Rotiki jackpot

Rotiki doesn’t have a progressive jackpot, but the slot allows players to win up to 1,000x their bet. There is a 1 in 21,541 chance of earning the maximum payout.

Where to play Rotiki for real money

Currently, Rotiki is not available as a real money slot at any online casinos in the US. However, you can play Rotiki and other free slots in demo mode at the top of the page.

Final thoughts

Our time with Rotiki was a blast. The game has a polished theme and is fun from start to finish. We liked the unique structure, which required filling the grid to earn bonuses and respins. While we’d love to see a jackpot, its absence in this game is far from a dealbreaker. We highly recommend Rotiki.
